[via LJ2ME] What Makes A Good Day.

littlePerson loves Jack Travis and it's the cutest thing ever. she says hi every time she goes by his house. :)
earlier tonight, i was carrying him around in my sweatshirt pocket. i have to say, i think it's one of the most delightful things i've ever done. and oh my gosh, that just gave me an incredible idea!! you know how some nursing homes have pet cats that hang around for the sake of the residents? you're probably going to think i'm crazy but i think residents of nursing homes should have pet rats. they're just as social as cats - and MORE affectionate than a lot of cats... -sigh- there's probably very, very few nursing homes who would believe rats make good pets. i mean...the reaction i get from some of my friends who KNOW me and TRUST me tells me there's no way a stranger would listen to me with a straight face when i tell them they should let their residents get pet rats...you know what? i think it's not a good idea after all. it was actually a bad idea trick or treating in a good idea costume.
so i was thinking earlier about what makes a good day and realizing that a lot of what makes a good day is the hope you have for the next one. like...when you're looking forward to something, somehow it makes the mundane in a day more sparkly, less unbearable. maybe this is just me. maybe this is only how i work. but it's neat. i've had a lot of good days lately cos of all the things i'm anticipating, looking forward to, and hoping for. mmm, i feel a list coming on. ;)
things i am hoping for, looking forward to, and anticipating
:: Asti and Korbel coming home.
:: seeing the inside of the house we hope to have.
:: having the house we hope to have.
:: the DreamWidth project being launched and being a part of it.
:: hanging out with my brother for coffee.
:: littlePerson successfully transitioning to her crib.
:: and this might sound silly but i'm also looking forward to the next time i have coffee. :)
i never realized this before but i think i like lists. that seems weird to me. like...i don't know WHY i like lists. (there i go with my why-ness again. guess this entry will have to get THAT tag...) maybe it's cos lists are organizational and i like to be organized. (remember when i said i'm organized but i'm not neat? i like everything to have its place even if it never actually 'lives' there? that's actually not ENTIRELY true. but in some ways it is.)
so The Best Thing...was carrying Jack Travis around in my pocket today. :-D lots of other Best Things happened today but that's the one i want to savor right now. i didn't know it was possible to be so enamored with an animal. i don't even remember being this enamored with my chihuahua a few years ago. BUT...i was this enamored with my cat paco. he was very special though. Jack Travis is special too. :)
oh!! i forgot to add to my list that i'm also looking forward to taking Jack Travis to my parents' house so they can meet him. :)
okay, i suppose that's enough about Jack Travis. gosh, i sound like a sixteen year old talking about her first boyfriend. :p Jack Travis this, Jack Travis that. 9__9
so who of you Out There like any of the following shows? NCIS, stargate (atlantis or sg-1), or house? if you like any or all of those, who are your favorite characters? mine: abby and gibbs from NCIS; rowan and shepard from atlantis (not sure i'm spelling their names right); carter and o'neal from sg-1; and of course, house himself is my favorite character. :) i have NO IDEA why i felt like asking/sharing that. :p
