Ooh, what's your realization? I'm sort of flummoxed by Owen/Greg and Tamara (it didn't help that Gorendaughter was squeeing about Rumbelle all through the episode! I need to rewatch it...) So who do we think the anti-magic big boss is? The Evil Shadow of Neverland? I assume it's the Evil Shadow that wants Henry...so maybe Owen and Tamara are working for the Shadow, and they grabbed Henry to bring him to Neverland? Maybe they are just ridding the world of all magic so that the Shadow is the only one with magic?

Or is it Wendy Darling? She's like the head of Torchwood, ridding the world of alien magical artifacts/creatures?

I dunno. I never watched Lost so I don't know what these show creators tend to do, but I know it was weird. I'm sensing OUaT is going down the same road.

Re Rumple and Henry...I like your take on the "undoing," but I don't think he's really fighting the urge to hurt Henry. He was definitely breaking that rope swing Henry was on (who puts a child's swing in the middle of jagged boulders???) and he only stopped when the Scooby gang appeared. I know some people (like my daughter) just love the bad-boy-turns-good-even-though-he-still-does-bad-things trope, but I don't. :D I like slightly-wayward-boys like August, lol. I don't like Rumple just like I don't like Loki.

They he, at least, is a Lost Boy. He and his father were "Lost" in Storybrooke and when they sent him away and kept his father, he was basically an orphan and because of that he was "lost". I'll bet Tamara is an orphan too. So she's probably a "lost boy" too. Erin thinks the Shadow is Peter Pan himself. Which would be a really interesting twist on that tale. If Peter and the Lost Boys were the villains...

At this point, OUAT has passed through it's second season without getting stupid, completely painful to watch, answering all the questions (other than the ones that keep you intrigued), not having an entire cast that I want dead and not becoming so confusing it was impossible to watch, so right there it's still much better than Lost! :) I think it feels like they learned their lessons from Lost and are doing what they *thought* they were doing with Lost, which is telling an interesting story that has just enough twists and turns that it keeps people guessing without dragging them along. I also highly doubt the whole thing will end with them having been in Purgatory all along. :) (I watched a season and a half of Lost before I gave up completely.)

Yeah, he is fighting it. He wasn't actually damaging that rope. He was imagining himself doing it. Just like he imagined that he turned Henry into a statue and then smashed it. When Snow, David and Emma walked up, everything was fine and he "popped" out of his daydream, looking a bit guilty/troubled. So yeah, I do believe he is fighting the urge to hurt Henry because Henry is his grandson and he knows that if he really did hurt Henry, he'd lose Bae forever. :)

Ohh, Lost Boys....yeah, I see that! Hmm.

I rewatched the park scene, and I think he was actually causing the rope to break. It doesn't look like he was startled out of a daydream...it looks like he was startled because he had nearly been caught. I even read a few recaps, and they all seemed to think Gold was breaking the rope. The statue scene you mentioned wasn't his imagination...it was an actual dream that he woke from. *shrug* But, I think now that Belle is Belle again, we will see Gold fighting that urge to hurt Henry. When Belle was Lacey, he was willing to be the Dark One again because she liked it and he wanted her to like him again.

I think it feels like they learned their lessons from Lost

Let's hope!!

We also had kind of a theory today that perhaps Henry is Peter Pan and the shadow has been looking for him.

I'll have to rewatch it again, but I still think he was daydreaming. I didn't mean that he was startled out of it, so much as when they walked up, he "popped" out of the daydream, like someone does when they kinda suddenly realize they've drifted off somewhere..

I think it could go either way, and we'll probably never have a definitive answer. :)

I'll have to rewatch the end now, because something made me think that the blond Lost Boy was actually Peter Pan. I can't remember what it was, though.

Let's see...we've got the Shadow that everyone is afraid of, even pirates. We've got the Lost Boys who are "his" henchmen. We've got Peter Pan. We've got Bae/Neal. We've got Greg and Tamara. We've got Lost Boys with a drawing of Henry. And I....got nothing, lol. :D

Probably! At least not until next year.

Hmm, interesting thought. I'v honestly never read Peter Pan, so I really need to. gatechic says the book is darker, so they're probably following the books.

It's confusing, but a fun kinda trying to figure it out confusing. :) I love that they're assuming their audience is well versed in Disney, Grimm and Christian Anderson. Along with Shelley, Baum and the various other classical mythmakers. It's EPIC! :)
