Final and lovely day at work

I had to drop a paper off at the school yesterday and my teacher asked me while I was there if I wanted to see how I did. Well, gee.. twist my arm. LOL

I GOT A B!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so thrilled that I got a B out of this course. :-) (I got an 86 on the final itself)

And today.. I get to work... turn on my computer.. and..... wait. And wait.. and wait. It was at this point I realized that one of my hard drives was dead. This did not surprise me as it's been acting kinda funky the past few days so I did a thorough back-up day before yesterday. Glad I did because today it was deader than a doornail.

So we spent all day trying to get it together.

Did have something really odd happen though. And I have no other way to explain it other than Topper went to work with me today. (Topper is my guardian spirit/ghost) My boss had a brand new hard drive that he got out of the packaging and used... (I have two hard drives.. a C drive where all my programs are.. and a D drive where all my data is. My D drive is the one that died) So when he got the new drive in, we booted it and nothing happened. So we took it back and thought maybe it was the dip switches. So we talked to out Tech person and gave him the names of the drives so he could tell us what we should do (Since he's in canada) Now a little later.. I went in to find my boss with an absolutely confused look on his face. He asked me... is this where you put the switches? (I moved em since my hands were smaller) They were in a different place. I said no. Boss said... Ok, then this is strange. And he boots up my computer and it boots fine (still without the D drive) he then shows me that the drive he'd just showed me was the drive that was my C drive. The drive that was booting my system and has all my programs on it.. was the new empty drive he'd just put in.

So long story short.. somehow all of my data had switched from one drive to another. It was the strangest thing. When I mean changed.. it wasn't an image map, or conflicting ports.. I mean the data was physicaly moved to the other drive. And at no time were those drives connected in a way that would have transferred the data. What happened was an impossibility. What's also really odd is the drive formerly known as my C drive.. is also now dead. So... I think that drive was going and Topper knew I would have a harder time getting that info back, so he switched the data to a new drive.

A supernatural event is the only way I can think of to explain what happened. Just odd. LOL I'm really glad Topper is around sometimes. He pulls practical jokes on me and this is something that he would do. LOL

supernatural, work
