update from the mountains...

so, im still up in the mountains in PA. everything is pretty good. i think all of us interns are exhausted. but, thats how the game works. i think its also one of those summer stock things too.

for those who dont know, i am the assistant stage manager for the summer stock season and im the sm for a children's show and two black box shows.

we opened the foreigner on saturday night. it went well, the audience liked it. all of the actors and us interns all live in the cast house. so there are twenty of us under one roof. wouldnt be so bad, but we only have two bathrooms. the one on my floor is "out of order" ... lame. hehe, the other actors are, mostly, good times. it was strange, there were only ten of us in the house for the rehearsals for the foreigner and now everyone else moved in to start pajama game. im sitting in rehearsal for that now. its a music rehearsal, so im sitting here to look pretty and listen to the folks sing.

our new roommate leaves... a little to be desired. we are working on not disliking her so much from the get go. she didnt make the most awesome first impression.. so we are trying to be understanding.

back to the season, its kinda cool to be around this process. we put up a show from start to finish in two weeks. we started rehearsal for pajama game on sunday and we open on the fifteenth. so, ten days! the directors so far have been so great. Kim Moore directed the foreigner and Corin Hollifield.. i think... is the one for pajama game. there is a crazy curly haired lady coming in to do best little whorehouse in texas. oh man, but i did meet the director for proof, which is going in the black box we just converted from a basement gogo interns! he on the other hand is going to be.. interesting... he is a shaker.. and aparently he freaks out.. and he asks lots of questions.

a few more months and we will venture back to st. auggie. the weather here is nice.. when it isnt HAILING! im talking a literal hail storm. it looked like it snowed.. and then the lower level of the playhouse flooded.... it was awesomeNOT. oh man, there was a waterfall into the costume shop. luckily, amanda cleaned it out enough when we got here a few weeks ago, so very few things were ruined. the worst thing..... it was the night before we opened foreigner... and then the power went out... and when you only have two weeks to put up a show... every night counts. lucky for us, the power came back really quickly. hehe, and a tree fell on the cast house. but it only fell on the fire escape. which.. is made out of wood.

oh well. time to work. its blocking time. and i get to make the -gong- noise! ps. i like boys that sing. they make me smile on the inside.

-biz.
