Today for ancient studies we went to parliament house to "study Australia's political system compared to the ancient Greeks" which is pretty much our teachers excuse to introduce us to some politics, as he's a passionate politics leader. But it was pretty cool, sitting in the upper house - it's really pretty there, l must admit, the architecture is very impressive. Darcy got to be the Madam Speaker, l was pretty envious. Jordan and l were the Education Minister's (skye's) shadowers, so it wasn't too bad.

I finished 'the Catcher in the Rye' today, amazing book. Honestly, it is. I'm in love with Holden's character, he's so honest and while he's blatantly damaged as a person and has ample issues, he's an addictive character and l'm slightly suprised at how much l could connect with him as a reader. It's a great book, it really is, l'd strongly recommend it. There are probably plenty of people who it does nothing for, and l almost feel sorry for them l guess. Perhaps they're not being honest, though. Holden's a dark character undoubtedly and while he's constantly critical and judgemental of people, you can't help but see yourself in him and it doesn't repulse you at all, l'm not sure how to explain it, but great book. Especially the last page, it wasn't fantastic or wordy or elegant, it was simply Holden and l particularly liked the last sentence because at first, l interpreted it as something and then l wasn't satisfied with it and l had to think about it before l decided how to interpret it to my liking. I think it was good it made me think about it, because sometimes Holden can say ambiguous things. But anyway, l'm raving too much about it.

Atm, l'm reading Deerskin, it's pretty cool. I'm going to have to start a reading list. My favourite author right now is Philippa Gregory, her style and type of books can turn you off - historical fiction, but l swear she's great! I especially loved her new book, "the Other Boyelon Girl", it was so dark and twisted and yet happy and comical at times. Just a good one to read.

Well, l have a whole bunch of homework to do so l better do some before l watch House. ^^
