Okay, I generally tend to post reviews of any shows I do, once they're over. Well. IeT is over.
So here they are, for those who are interested.
Classical 96.3 FM - Paula Citron (NB: She says that Thom has a "mellifluous" voice...I'm adding that word to my list of "Words I'd Like To Use In Conversation" which can be found on my FB page. Oh, and I agree! :) )
The Toronto Star - Robert Crew (NB: this does NOT make me like Crew any better though...he still gets two thumbs down from me)
The Globe and Mail - Robert Everett Greeneye Weekly - Christopher Hoile In other news -
- so the other night, whilst ushering, I felt pretty crappy. And I knew I was coming down with something...at the end of my shift, I totally felt like I had a fever. Called Mike to come get me. He was at his sister's place, not too far (maybe ten minutes), called him up (as we had discussed beforehand) and told him I wasn't feeling well. Hm. I got a "oh...I'm in the middle of something, I'll be there in, maybe, half an hour, forty minutes." Hm. Well, I told him to never mind, and took transit home (which took about half an hour) and yep...I had a fever! Self-medicated, and passed out on the couch. He came home about an hour and a half later. Anyway, going to the Rem'Day ceremonies (standing outside in the cold for an hour) didn't help. Mild fever...but...I'm all better now! Yay for drugs! :) Still not too happy that I was feeling ill and he wasn't up to helping me out...but...whatever. He made up for it by making me soup.
Went to the run thru of the show I'm doing, last night (with tiny fever) and boy was THAT interesting! The musicians are...strange. I get the feeling that they have NO IDEA what a stage manager does. The lighting designer is AWESOME, and I feel awful, because he took a cab to the house...and left his camera in the cab...and it was an independent cab and he's S.O.L., and Tracey is still a little panicky, but I keep telling her to relax, and she is starting to! Yay! Makes my job easier. The PM is NOT making my job easier. She keeps asking me questions SHE should be answering. Sigh.
Meeting up with Jess tonight to talk Figaro. Fingers crossed. Although...I don't really know to expect. I still miss Iphigenie. (I know! Shut up already! I know!) More retail therapy is in the works...I need a new pair of boots now to go with my fantastic new winter coat! I have high hopes for this winter (ie. a great snowball fight, long walks through some fresh snow, skating on the French River, snow angels and starry winter skies) so I want some proper gear. I also want to go away for New Years...but...that probably won't happen. Probably just get up to the cottage...which will be lovely! Maybe I'll invite folks up and have a "party". Love cottage get-togethers!
