Even more Trek!
Okay, I'm sorry...but I saw Star Trek AGAIN with Mike last night, and now I have to CORRECT some "observations" that I made in my last ST post. I have to. The geek in me is compelled to do so in order to keep my "geek" label.
*Bones called for Nurse Chapel in the scene with Kirk's big hands, not after McCoy had been "promoted" to CMO
*Uhura was a Lt. even before she got on the Enterprise. Spock calls her "Lt." when she's after him for assigning her to the USS Farragut.
*One of my favourite bits: Kirk slapping Spock on the shoulder is when he says "See, we are getting to know one another." Kirk tells BONES to "buckle up", not Spock.
Okay, and now NEW things:
*I noticed that the Star Fleet insignia on their uniforms contains a little "cut-out" in the centre that is associated with the shirt colour (divisions - command, sciences & operations) and I thought that was so neat! SEE!
*I still really enjoy that the torpedoes are loaded like naval ships of old.
*Squee'd at Chekov's "GOTCHA!" when he manages to transport Kirk and Sulu. Followed by an exclamation in Russian...anyone know what he said there?
Okay, I'm done. Really. No more Star Trek.
So. Last night, Mike and I had "Date Night" because we haven't been out together in a l-o-n-g time. So, we went to Milestones and had a really nice dinner (I had the prime rib...it was HUGE! I don't think I've ever had so much meat! NOM NOM!!!) and followed it up with ST.
