Jenny tapped her foot impatiently as she waited for the TARDIS (what did a TARDIS look like, anyway?) to show up. She was almost certain that she was at the right coordinates even if there was a sliver of doubt. After all, she had landed on a planet that seemed to be one giant shopping mall ( Read more... )

Why had he agreed to do this?

It wasn't seeing Jenny that was the issue. On the contrary, seeing Jenny was probably the only thing he was actually excited about. If anyone else has asked him to meet them at a giant shopping mall he would automatically responded with a resounding "no" and immediately run off in the opposite direction. However, as she was his daughter, and he had already seen her die in his arms once, if she wanted to go to a shopping mall, then he would be there in a second.

Or rather, ten seconds, as the TARDIS had apparently decided to take him to 1585 Tokyo instead. He hit the side of the console and re-set the coordinates.

It was only a shopping mall.

And he was there.

There. There he was. Although Jenny didn't see the TARDIS, she would recognise that face anywhere.

With a squeal of joy, she ran towards her father. He showed up! Late, maybe, but he was there like he promised!

"Dad!"

He took a somewhat cautious step out of the TARDIS, not entirely sure what he was going to be faced with. Shopping malls had a habit of hounding you with "special offers" around every corner and attacking you with overly-cheerful perfume ladies who will simultaneously want to do your hair. Granted, the later part only seemed to happen to him recently, but it was still a legitimate concern.

Luckily, the face that did greet him was neither a 50% off ad or an aggressive cosmetic saleswoman. This face was far more pleasant, far more excited, and in definite need of a hug. He grinned.

"Hello Jenny."

The hug was turned with exuberant happiness. It had been far too long since the last time she had seen him. She threw herself into his arms once close enough, beaming brightly and ignoring the looks of any passer byers..

"Hello Dad! You made it!"
