"How do you like this?" Cavilo's examining a complex piece of jewelry: a bracelet and four rings, linked by fine chains, all in a rather pretty iridescent metal.
Jenny shook her head. "It might. But what would it catch on if you wore it on the right occasion? It would be a party, wouldn't it? Not a fight or anything like that?"
She paused for a moment and gave Cavilo a quick look. "There aren't fights, right?"
"Oh, you never know where a fight's going to break out." She says this very cheerfully. "Last time I went for a walk on a beach with a gentleman friend, we wound up being attacked by monsters."
It's a minor effort to sound affectionately amused and to not roll her eyes, but she manages easily enough.
