New Year's in NY (for spongetastic)

Dec 31, 2008 11:43

Jenny had scoured the universe for the perfect dress. Well, perhaps not the entire universe and not entirely scouring, but she felt as if it were close enough. She hadn't ever attended a planet's New Year's celebration before and she had no idea what to expect aside from what Peter had described ( Read more... )

After everything he'd been through recently, Peter was honestly very glad for the chance to spend some normal time with a girl he liked. Even if this girl wasn't quite what should be classified as "normal". But then, neither was he, so it worked out.

Peter checked himself over in the mirror. He dressed semi-casually while still attempting to look nice for his date. Date... and he didn't have anything to give her when she showed up. But he'd been thoughtful enough to make a thermos of hot coffee for them, so that was something.

He just had to take a breath and relax. He really had been out of the dating scene for too long.

Maybe it wasn't as good as a TARDIS was supposed to be, but for Jenny, the vortex manipulator had become a lifesaver. Seconds after starting it up, she appeared in a rather cluttered and cozy living room that smelled a lot like Peter.

She smiled and glanced down at the dress she was wearing, the blue translucent material rippling with each step she took. Jenny could only hope he liked it, too. Impressing the man suddenly seemed so very important.

Unable to remain quiet any longer, she called out, "Peter?"

Hearing his name, Peter glanced in eagerly. And there she was. He stood there staring at her frozen in place. He knew he was supposed to say something here but the words seemed lost on him.

"Hi," he managed. Not great but it was a start. Peter cleared his throat and tried agian. "You look really... amazing." Since he had no material item to give her, Peter settled for walking toward her and giving her a kiss on her cheek.

A kiss on the cheek quickly turned into a more pore proper kiss as she tilted her head enough to capture his lips with her. She wanted to thank him for the compliment and tell him that he looked brilliant, too, but this was better.

She smiled against his mouth quickly before kissing him again.

Peter seemed to think this was better too and he wondered why he hadn't thought of it. Probably because once he felt her lips on his he would let the kiss keep going, and grow more intimate. It was such an easy thing to do.

He laughed softly against her mouth. "You need to be careful," he warned her teasingly. "You're making it very tempting to stay here."

She took a sharp breath once he pulled away, feeling a strange fire course through her body. Jenny knew the mechanics of sex, knew how to use it to her advantage in the battlefield. But feeling like this because she wanted to was still another experience entirely.

"That's a good thing, isn't it?" Jenny whispered in return. "To tempt you like that?"

"Well..." He smiled, feeling embarrassed and giddy at the same time. "No. But... I'd feel bad, making you come all this way and you not even getting to see New York."

Jenny smiled at that, suddenly very torn between exploring a city she had only been to once before and spending time exploring a boy like she never properly had before. She sighed, resting her head against his and brushing their lips together.

"Want to do both, Peter," she murmured. "Can we do both?"

"Yes." He moved his arms around her gently, holding her close. The problem with this was he would have to let her go if they had any chance of going outside the apartment. If he could still teleport there woud be no problems. But he couldn't, and they would have to walk like normal people.

He kissed her again almost like a promise that they'd get back to this part later. "It's cold outside," he told her. "You can borrow my coat if you need it."

It was a good promise, one Jenny very much hoped that he would keep. She kissed him back, sending her own promise of not leaving until they were both thuroghly ready to part.

Breathing heavily, she stepped away to look at the offered coat. "Is it very cold out there?"

"I don't know what you would consider cold," Peter confessed with a sheepish shrug of his shoulders. "But you can't be too careful. Don't worry, I'll make sure you stay warm. Even if I had to hold you all night." Which, truth be told, he was probably going to do anyway.

Right now they had a city to see and a New Year to welcome. So Peter took the girl's hand to guide her outside. He knew it was going to be crowded in Time's Square but that was just one more reason to hold onto her.

"Would you really? Hold me all night?" Jenny's eyes gilttered with hope at the thought. Was that a part of human mating? Would she enjoy it? Without quite realising, she answered her own question aloud. "I think I might."

Then, without thought or regard to a jacket, she squeezed Peter's hand and tugged him in the direction of the door.

Peter couldn't help laughing a little, allowing her to drag him out the door. He had to pause long enough to lock it but then they were off again to brave the New York winter. Jenny seemed to have forgotten about his offer of a coat but that's where the holding her idea came in.

"So you'll stay with me after the ball drops?" he asked hopefully. "And go back to my place and..." He wasn't sure what that next "and" was but it made him swallow nervously.

Jenny stared wide eyed at the traffic, noise and buildings once they were outside Peter's. He was right about the cold - she could feel the wind and there were tiny little snowflakes clinging to her skin. She beamed at him brightly. This neighborhood wasn't like Mohinder's loft or Molly's home, but she still liked it.

"Yeah," she finally answered, tilting her head at a man walking by asking for money. "That's okay, right? If we come back after to continue kissing and maybe even have intercourse?"

Jenny caught him off-guard enough that he actually choked a little. He coughed, feeling his face getting very hot.

"I... I'm sorry, what? You... you want to have sex?" Not that it was outside the realm of possibilities. Peter just didn't expect her to come right out and say it.

"I think that would definitely be okay," he answered finally. And to think that his biggest plan had been to make sure she was his first kiss for the new year.

At first she stared at him in confusion, unable to understand why his face turned that colour and why he was choking out his words. That was what they had been leading up to back in the flat, wasn't it? The possibility of having sex with him seemed very likely to Jenny.

But, finally, he answered with a more defined response. She beamed back, feeling herself grow a little warm now. "Yeah. It'd be okay with me, too."
