Time flew by when you were having fun. A ridiculous Earth saying, perhaps, but one that remained applicable to the scenario. On the nine month anniversary of their meeting, the Master had treated Jenny to a particular special lesson ( Read more... )

Though the Master was, of course, nothing if not ambitious, he had scarcely imagined that they'd have reached this point so quickly. It had taken some time to rid Jenny of the guilt she still associated with taking lives, but once they'd jumped that particularly tricky hurdle, she took to it just as she had been born to, his lovely little soldier girl. Ruthless and efficient, she might well have been a machine, the way she killed.

The takeover of Scaramouche had been pathetically simple. The Master had his own ideas about how such a thing was to be done, but Jenny had shown remarkable ingenuity, taking what he gave her and tweaking it just slightly, making it a plan much more suited to her wide blue eyes and pouting lips. The Master himself had insinuated himself into the court as a nameless noble, and when Jenny had ascended the throne, to name him advisor was nothing questionable. He leaned against the wall, now, wearing around his neck the delicate silver chain that indicated his status, silently watching as Jenny dealt neatly with the messenger who had rushed in with such urgent news.

She may not have been born to mastery, but oh, it suited her admirably. When she met his eyes, looking childishly eager despite herself, the Master smirked, and shouldered himself off the wall. His leisurely paces towards the throne echoed in the long room.

'So, Majesty.' The word dripped with irony. 'Any plans to deal with these rebels, hmm?'

A manic smile crossed her face when he called her Majesty, however ironic the title was. In full legal status of the term, Jenny was indeed queen of this planet. But her rule was a simple farce; something she stole rather than earned. After all, where was the fun in earning when you could just snatch it instead?

"Plans," she murmured, standing from the throne and walking slowly in his direction. Her slippered feet made no sound on the stone floor and her robe trailed behind her. "Plans. Always planning, aren't you?"

Jenny's eyes sparkled when she stopped in front of him, curving an arm to stroke his cheek. "Philos thinks the leader of the dissenters plans on assassinating me. Oh, as if he could!"

A long way she had come, undeniably, but not so far as all that, and her affectations as ruler and villainess still amused him. He arched an eyebrow down at her.

'He could, of course; you do realise. Of course, you wouldn't be dead for long, but he could kill this body easily enough, if he wanted to.' It wouldn't do for Jenny to forget that, after all. If these dissenters did kill her... no matter. But he was hardly about to let them. Not when this situation could be milked so profitably.

The Master tipped his chin up, looking down at Jenny. 'But what else does Philos think? Do tell. I'm dripping with curiosity, I'm sure. Any more news the Queen's most trusted advisor should be privy to?'

"Hmm," she murmured, tilting her head as she looked up at him. A spark of that wild, innocent youth remained in her eyes as she thought. That cold-hearted killer remained only present when in the battle field. So many more individuals fell for this persona.

"At the very least, they're staging to infiltrate the castle. Learn our weaknesses, perhaps, or how I ascended to the throne so quickly. Clearly, we'll have to stop them." A small smile played on her face as she flicked her tongue out to lick his lips. "They may already be here."
