13 things I've relearned in honor of Friday the 13th
Like I said before, I've been reading Harry Potter fanfic again and boy, the fandom didn't get any less crazy since I stepped away from it.
Some facts I had to reacquaint myself with.
1) Don't expect logic. EVER.
2) Don't go from reading a fic where Snape is Hermione's father, to one where she lusts after him. It's...creepy. Very creepy.
3) Hermione/Voldamort are either very good, or very, very bad. With more of the former.
4) Hermione/Voldemort/Snape fic is weird. Especially when Voldemort is turned into his handsome younger self with the pale, pale skin and glowing red eyes. It gets worse when Hermione uses a potion to turn into Tom Riddle and Draco shaggs her, then Voldemort pops in along with Snape, and they decide to have an orgy. Oh and Harry is more psychotic that Voldy. WEIRD.
5) Hermione is loved by everyone. I mean EVERYONE. I read a fic where Nagini loves her. It's also a smut fic. *Shutters*
6) Hermione/Draco seems to be the most popular ship for het.
7) 70% of online fandom seems to be either anti-Hermione/Ron or just plain anti-Ron. JKR YOHOO!
8) Harry/Draco seems to be the biggest slash.
9) Hermione/Ginny is the biggest femslash.
10) Hermione gets tied up more often than anyone I've ever read about. Also she don't need no stiken' safe word! (poor Hermione, I must convince Helen to write fic where she takes her revenge on the various men and women who abuse her.)
11) Apparently JKR had it wrong. All the time turners weren't destroyed. Huh, you'd think she'd get that right.
12) No one seems to like DH's epilogue.
13) Bashing various characters is like a national fandom pastime. It seems to me if you don't like Harry (ya know the character whom we see the wizarding world though) you won't read the series. Maybe it's just me.
