a couple of questions? beckyo October 20 2008, 19:54:55 UTC
I know this is probably covered elsewhere, but I'm fried and can't find it. I've been editing this blasted thing all day. *g*

Word count - are you going to be validating it, or are we on our honor? I'm going to double check mine in a different venue, but in Word it only comes out to 9 words over my required minimum (since I was adding onto an existing work). *face/palm*

Format - how are these going to be posted? One long doc? Link to our sites? I'm wondering because I have 20 chapters and some necessary use of italics. If it's going to be pasted as text format, then I need to edit yet again because the italics won't show up.

Thanks! I'd like to get this done asap so my brain can start working on an outline for the sequel, aka NaNoWriMo. *g*

I'll be sure to make a post about posting formats once we get closer to the live dates, but I can definitely fill you in. :)

I'm gonna be validating the word count, yes.

You're going to post your story yourself to wherever you want (LJ, your own site, etc) and then make a post here with a link to it. So any formats are completely up to you. :)

Thanks!

May I be nosy and ask how/where/what you're going to use for validation? I've used: Word, NoteTab Lite, and open Office and get three hugely different numbers. *sigh* I also tried using the Zokutou counter but it's not worked at all today.

Bwahaha! Aw, you know, I'm just gonna check in Word, I think. It won't make a huge difference if the word count is off by a couple hundred words or so, I'm sure those'll be added in editing anyway. :)

Okay, thanks. The thing is, this is done. Editing and all, except for some stuff I want to go back and add in before I submit it. November is NaNo all the way, especially since we''ll be gone from the 25th till the 30th when those word counts have to be validated.

Oh, so you won't be here the first day we're posting? Good to know, I need that for when I'll be planning the posting schedule.

Well, I'm glad you're done so early! November is up to you how you wanna spend it challenge-wise, if you don't wanna edit anymore that's fine. Then you just have to be sure it exceeds the 20,000 words.

I'll be online, we'll be in San Francisco and I'll have my laptop. I meant that as far as NaNo goes, I can't guarantee I'll have time to actually write since it's a family vacation. If I don't have a good word count before we leave I'll never be able to finish.
