What’s needed? Photoshop or any photo editor that allows you to create gradients and set a blending mode to color dodge.

(1) Open the photo in your editing program and duplicate the background image.
(2) Set the duplicated layer to “color dodge” and set the opacity to around 60%. Play around with this setting. You want the background or the image to be rather bright.
(3) If using Photoshop, create a photo filter adjustment layer and from the drop down menu select sepia. Set the density to 50% and uncheck preserve luminosity. If using a different editing program, create a solid color layer of “ac7a33” and play around with opacity so that the image looks rather dark and brownish.
(4) Create a gradient adjustment layer (or just a gradient if using something other than Photoshop). Use these settings, but play around with the angle to suit your image (the color is “885d01”):
(5) Create another gradient layer with the same color and play around with the angle again to create a rather nice effect in the corners. If you are using the same image as me, use these settings:
