Indeed, he doesn't appear to be wearing armor, much less mechanized armor the size of a tank, at all.
Rather, he's dressed in a snappy forest-cammo jacket with matching pants, a green beret with the flag of South Africa pinned on it, and a NERV messenger bag with and several pins on it - some of which are his rank pins, but another is an angel wing design, one a caudecus in a Star of David, and one the sigil of the Fire Nation.
"Hell, I'm hearing you from an iPhone over a gospel song..." He blinks. "Joshua At The Gates Of Jericho by Odetta?"
"...ah," Meredith says. "Er, she's the source of my middle name. I'd forgotten she did that song..."
"Rrrrrright. Think it might be a good idea to scout?"
"Absolutely. I'll keep an eye on your surroundings," she says. "There should be an app loaded on that phone named 'Anchor's Way.'"
