good afternoon ladies and gentlemen

Is anyone else having problems with Firefox lately? Mine is freaking out in a dozen different and very inventive ways and nothing else on the computer seems to be in a non-working mood so it must be the program itself, right?

Anyway, I'm bored at work so what do you do? Read early 20th century poetry and find connections and comparabilities to Dean Winchester of course!

Anguish, anguish is my heritage,
My throat's wound,
My heart's cry in the world,
Now congeals the lathered sky.
In the rough hand of night,
Now rise the forests
And stiffened heights
Barrenly against the sky's contracted vault.
How harsh is all,
How stiffened, black and still!
I grope about this darkened room,
I feel the sharp stone's edge against my fingers,
I tear my blood-stained upstreched hands
Against the frozen rags of the clouds.
Oh, tear my nails from the fingertips,
My two hands are mangled, sore
'Gainst hill and darkened wood,
'Gainst the sky's black iron
And against the cold earth!
Anguish, anguish is my heritage,
My throat's wound.
My heart's cry to the world.

Pär Lagerkvist, 1916
(I have no idea who translated it, all I know is it wasn't me)
