(no subject)
I have decided that I am going to try very hard to update this much more often than I actually do. I spend so much time reading other people's lj's, I think it is time to update myself. The theme of this entry is why is stephanie doing nothing on a friday night. hmmm. well it all goes back to a little something called a one week long vacation. My excuse for not thoroughly enjoying time off from school in the past has been that my family almost always goes somewhere over breaks and so I simply do not have time to enjoy them. After our planned trip for this week fell through and I ended up sitting home becoming a TV junkie all week, I have realized that I was oh so wrong. No matter how you spend them, days off from school are just not as gratifying as it seems they should be. Ten episodes of sex and the city, 20 billion episodes of friends, and way too many mary kate and ashley movies later, i just don't feel fulfilled. shocking. haha no but some of it has been fun such as actually finding time to reconnect with people named emmy and katie who it seems like i never get to see, even though I probably do and am just preoccupied with other things. I have also realized that as much as I complain about having so much to do, it's really not that bad. Actually I'm getting better at handling/juggling things which I think is quite good. I'm prepared for the fact that the next few months are going to be so busy and a lot of work, but I'm actually excited, I think, which is the best state of mind I can hope for.
Speaking of the next few months, Anna and I are going to Notre Dame! March 24-26. I am so excited, not even for the college really(though that will obviously be fun too), but because I know we are going to have so much fun on our little mini vaca and because my friend Bill might be going the same weekend(pure coincidence,so weird)and that would be incredible. Also,my parents were going to book this last minute trip to Florida too for the weekend of St. Patricks Day, which I would have absolutely loved as well. My dad's entire family seems to vacation in Orange Lake,Florida(near Orlando) around that time every year which is why it would have been so much fun, and I don't know I just have so many memories from there. The trip we took there two years ago was one of the most significant and memorable vacations I have ever taken, including all the cruises, even though it was just a plain old trip to Florida. We couldn't get the airfare times and dates and prices to work out with any of our schedules, so sadly we won't be going. It's too bad but I guess I'm over it, just a little bummed.
As much as I don't want to admit this and I probably never will again, I kind of like sitting home on a friday night. I mean for a one time thing, it's not that bad. Gives me a chance to catch up on things and, sadly, start homework for monday. Speaking of which, if anyone has the US chapter outline questions I could copy, that would be greatly appreciated. Well I'm going to unglue my eyes from this computer for like five minutes and go get some food. GOOD LUCK TOMORROW TO THE BASKETBALL GIRLIES! you're gonna kick ass!
