[Amazingly, the only role Schuldig played in Nagi's decision was telling him Ken's birthday -- the rest is completely his choice. Since killing Ken doesn't really last and doesn't seem to bother him that much anyway, he's borrowing a page from his teammate's book and going for the indirect approach by going after Miakis instead. [Miakis has spent her entire day getting things ready for Ken to have a nice birthday. She's prepared a cake, flowers, and even plans for dinner! She'll walk through the front door with a hefty bag of groceries, humming cheerfully. When Nagi greets her, though, she'll pause in her song to blink at him confusedly.]

...Uh, hey~ Is it already time for you to spend the night here?

[He acts like he doesn't know what day it is, but Nagi knows full well that Miakis was going to do something nice for Ken.]

[...Nagi is willingly talking to her. This is strange. Miakis raises her eyebrows at him, and her tone is slightly suspicious, though she isn't expecting him to kill her.]

Just thought I'd make dinner for once, since it's Ken's birthday today~... Have you eaten yet? I can make you a plate, too, if you want!

I thought you hated Christmas...? [Blinking, she sets her bags down on the nearest table.] And I didn't know until recently, either; Aya had to tell me about it! It figures Ken would forget to tell me about his birthday, of all things~

No, he really is that bad. He's stupid enough to think trying to be nice to me now makes up for the past and he's also stupid enough not to care if he dies again. But he will care if something happens to you....

Wha-- [Of course, Miakis has no way to defend herself from Nagi's power. No matter how hard she tries, she can't even squirm about and try to break free.

His words seem to strike a chord within her, though, and the color fades from her face as the realization hits her: Nagi is going to kill her. She may posture that she doesn't care about dying -- but there's a difference between dying in battle and being killed because of Nagi's grudge. She doesn't want to die, not like this, and definitely not today, of all days.]

[He could have chosen not to let her struggle at all, but this is fun even if he's not as sadistic as Schuldig and hopes to never be that way. Nagi makes sure she stays in place and moves in closer to her. Why worry about dying here in Mayfield when the dead are only going to come back the next day? He sees no point in being scared of it. Ruining Ken's birthday is exactly the point.]

[Miakis just glares. The only thing that pisses her off more than being murdered is the fact that Nagi's just doing this to get to Ken. And it just had to be on his birthday...]

I would've either dealt with the burns after rinsing off or died and come back with no traces of the marks. I don't want help from either of you and you never seen to understand that. Being stuck with you as my fake parents would be easier here if you left me alone.
