Entry 25

Dec 17, 2010 01:38

The postman's gone right now -- I went by there to think about getting something else -- and instead they're asking us to write letters to someone else who might bring us presents. Does anyone else think there's a connection?

Filtered from drones/NPCs, Farfarello, Weiss, and known spoilsports )

Well, Santa's not exactly real. The Postman is. Maybe he'll just be dressed up for the occasion.

Why do you need explosives?

Ah, but the point is that the Postman never gives out things for free, and that 'Santa' has always been too good to be true. Who knows what Christmas will bring...?

As for the explosives...let's just say some of us want to be prepared for what Christmas brings.

[OOC: Aaaah actually I just realized I should have asked if Red is telepathically accessible first! >> Schu has a permission post to that effect here. In my defense, it's late and I'm an idiot. Hopefully there's no problem?]

Does your world not have psychics, boy?

[ooc: there aren't any problems at all! sorry for not checking sooner. ._.;]

[this is...weird. granted, he's felt Espeon's mental presence in battle before, but it's not like it ever tried TALKING to him. he wonders if it's easy, so his reply comes in the form of a thought:]

We have them, but I've never tried talking to one before like this.

[OOC: No problem, it's more my responsibility than yours!]

Well, at the moment my other options are limited. That Postman ripped my vocal cords out...so you can see why I don't trust Santa if he's in any way related, and I'll just bet he is.

[and here you might feel a very noticeable surge of anger and concern, worry for this stranger's state. he doesn't have to put those emotions into words, mental or not.]

Those mailboxes - you don't think they work the same as the post office, do you? I just mailed a letter earlier, but...

[confusion, hesitance]

I don't know why. It just felt like something I had to do. Kind of like something was telling me to do it.

Believe me, it wouldn't be the first time this town forced people to do strange things. Or things with consequences.

I mailed one too, and you can bet I'd never have bothered normally. And no one can say I don't know better.

If it's too late to take them back, we should at least warn everyone. I'm still pretty attached to my vocal cords.

[even if he doesn't use them as much as he should l-lol]

Well, this was meant to be a rather blatant hint. Of course, if people are forced to send the letters regardless of caution, it doesn't much matter...but I'd at least like to know I'm not the only one capable of connecting the dots.

You're probably right. Then there's the problem whether or not people will even believe that Santa's out to dismember us.

Just thinking about it sounds nuts.

Thinking that Santa is real, in this town, and that anything good can possibly happen here is frankly a lot more insane than that.

So do you have a plan?

have_your_lives December 17 2010, 10:24:57 UTC
Oh, dozens. None that will work, given the way this town can bend everything and everyone to its will, but I can't help the limitations that places on me.

The explosives can't hurt. [Of course, they actually have nothing to do with preparation against the town at all, but it's a convenient lie.]

Can you say the same about anyone else who's in the way when they go off? It might be more trouble than it's worth.
