Entry 12 [closed to castmates and housemates]

Sep 26, 2010 18:30

[A few days after losing that fight to Alice, Nagi has little choice but to come home for a bit so he doesn't get droned. Did anyone miss him at all or have Ken, Miakis, and Relm been enjoying life without Nagi in it for the most part? He's also back to full strength, so it's probably not much of a surprise when something small ends up breaking ( Read more... )

[Schuldig is feeling better, so he's not having any trouble heading toward Ken's house. But for once, he's not smiling.

Nagi's ignoring orders. Isn't that supposed to be his job...? And he can't actually enforce them, not with his telepathy still crippled. All he can do is try to talk Nagi down.]

What do you think you're doing, Prodigy?

It's going to be a fair fight. As fair as it can be, anyway. And who says I'll kill him this time?

[He's not going to pointlessly kill Ken in his sleep and it's not really ignoring orders if it's personal, is it? This has nothing to do with Schwarz's general goals, it's still about him and his desire for revenge on Ken.]

Whether or not you kill him isn't the point. We're supposed to be behaving. Picking fights isn't behaving; Crawford was pretty explicit on that point.

Who says Crawford needs to learn about this if you don't tell him?

[He might not ignore orders as often as certain people, but Nagi's never blindly done everything he's told to - it just don't work that way.]

We both know you wouldn't cover for me if our positions were reversed. Why should I cover for you?

Besides, you're Schwarz, and these are Schwarz's orders. If they came from outside, I might not care, but as it is...

Because it'll be fun for you to hear him fall apart as I hurt him? Or maybe because it lets you see how he fights when he's against someone a lot stronger. Either way, it's useful information.

If Crawford asks, that's what this is - research like I was told to do.

Saying I'm not a lot stronger than he is, Nagi? Not the best strategy for convincing me to cover for you.

If you're going to do this, I'm not accepting any responsibility for it. [Schuldig is outside Ken's house now, debating the wisdom of going inside.] Fun is one thing, but ignoring your orders as Schwarz is another. Even I follow direct orders.

I'm not saying that. I'm saying I'm learning more so you have an easier time anyway.

This started before I became Schwarz - it's not about fun, it's about keeping a promise for payback.

[He might regret this later, but Nagi's a bit impulsive when he wants something bad enough, so he lets the barrier in his mind about Sister fall, letting Schuldig see her taking care of him, Ken promising not to betray her, Ken killing her while Nagi watched, Nagi ruining the church afterwards, and then Nagi, who's barely 14 at the time, ending up with Crawford, swearing his revenge on Weiss in general and Ken in particular.]

If you think I haven't already dragged that out of Siberian's head, you're sadly mistaken. [Of course, it was from a different perspective when seeing the events through Ken's eyes, but it doesn't make much difference to Schuldig either way. The Mastermind is quite adept at separating himself from the things he sees in other people's heads.] And what prompted it or when it happened doesn't make any difference. It'll affect Schwarz now.

[Schuldig pauses a moment longer, then walks into the house.]
