(no subject)
I'm sick. Really sick. I had a cold about a week and a half ago and it incubated into a sinus infection and came back and I've been sick, sick, sick since Friday. So I went to the health center today, and the doctor refused to prescribe any antibiotics. According to him, "the current best practice" is to avoid giving antibiotics unless the illness has continued for 7-10 days without improving. I went last year with the exact same illness, and they prescribed antibiotics for it. Today I had a 100 degree fever while on ibuprofen (my normal is 97 degrees). And he brushed off the fact that I've had a headache since Friday morning and can't get rid of it even with medication, I have incredible sinus pressure, and I have a personal and family history of severe sinus infections. He just brushed by all of that and said to come back in 4-7 days. So I'm stuck with this til Friday before I can even get anything prescribed. I just can't fucntion. I can't breathe through my nose for longer than a minute without filling up another tissue with snot, I cough until I gag, and my head just won't stop pounding. It won't fucking stop.
I need someone to take care of me. I don't even have a cup I can heat water in for tea. I need something to eat. I tried making toast in the caf but the toaster there didn't even work right. I just haven't broken down like this since I don't know when and I need a mother right now but my mom is 2000 miles away and she can't be here and I can't be there. I flat out told Jim I needed him tonight and he refused and told me he'd come if it was earlier...but I don't think he would have. I try so hard not to ask for anything because this is what happens when I do. I need someone tonight.
