i saw ben folds last night at millikin. it was seriously the best concert of my life.
so usually i hate seeing people live. theres just something about it i don't like. however, i really like going to ben folds shows for some reason. i mean he's my favorite singer and i have like every album and bootleg imaginable so i don't know i'm just a big ben nerd. so anyways, i roadtripped to millikin last night with mel, hill, erin, jogo, kiril, donnie, and scott. we get there pretty early so we have super good seats right in the middle and near the front. so we sit around for an hour or so and then an opener comes on. he was just not good. like just think of some college boy rocking out with his guitar for 30 min. thats all it was. then around 9, mr ben folds comes out. he proceeds to play for TWO AND A HALF HOURS!!!!!! he kept talking about how he was sleep deprived by loved the audience. i've seen ben 4 times and he's never played that long or been as good as he was yesterday. and then the creepy/best moment ever. he just finished playing fred jones and was in the middle of the part of the show where its just him and his piano. i turn to erin and tell her that i'm going to scream out "lullabye" because it's my favorite song and he's never ever ever played it any of the times i've ever seen him. so i start to yell it and just as i'm in the middle of saying it, he goes into the next song. AND ITS FREAKING LULLABYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whoa see i'm still just so happy. i like nearly cried i'm that much of a dork. so he played the world's greastet song and then was just hilarious for a good another hour.
sigh. i'm just still happy about the show.
four days til i'm in the cayman islands with the girls!
