I didn't know Thing was Jewish either, I'm surprised. That's a great icon of smokin' hot lesbian Batwoman by the way. Are there 10 lesbian comic characters in existence...
Let me see-- Maggie and Hoppie in Love and Rockets, Kathy and Lenny in Shade the Changing Man, Kate Kane and Renee from DC comics, Hazel and Foxglove in Sandman, four or five characters in Strangers in Paradise-- that covers it without even dipping into manga. Plus you have to add any female character written by Chris Claremont (and most male characters too) are at least sub-textually gay...

Too true, I'm definately expanding into indie comix with my list-- I'm assuming Sandman, Shade and Watchmen would qualify (as Watchmen is on the list for Nite Owl II) but it is pretty restrictive... I know there are a lot of autobiographical type comix by Jewish creators such as Aline Kominsky-Crumb that I would have included on a list if I was making it.
I think that Superman should always be considered semi-Jewish because of his role in culture and how his creators saw him as a native son playing a new role in America, but it is a nice list.
True, the creators of both Superman and Batman were Jewish-- I read a non-fiction book The Men of Tomorrow by Gerard Jones on that subject, not to mention Michael Chabon's great novel The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay.
I love Kitty. I got into X-Men in the mid-80's and it was really great to have a young character to serve as a sort of surrogate. Among the first issues of X-Men I read were "Days of Future Past" where adult Kitty came back into young Kitty's body...
I didn't see that one, I'm afraid. The first issue of X-Men I picked up was because of Kitty -- the cover featured her in a torn wedding dress and thigh-high's. I'm a sucker for thigh-high's; if it hadn't been for that illustration I might never have started reading the series!

Maybe she can be on the Top 10 Lesbian Comic Characters list. Assuming there are even ten in existence.
