A quick post of Ohno-appreciation -- gone horribly, horribly out of control

Nov 23, 2009 22:53

Because I really can’t control myself. I have no time for this. I meant to just grab a few caps from a concert and a couple of variety shows. And yet my exasperating fondness for this boy led me down the primrose path of ignoring all my work in favor of watching way too many old Arashi shows, and this is the monstrous result. Besides the ( Read more... )

Yes, Ohno can saunter like nobody's business -- which makes you wonder why he ends up doing that duck-footed walk whenever he tries to sing and walk to the song's rhythm at the same time (see "Kitto Daijobu" PV, for one). But yeah, the solo exits make you wonder whether all that 'aw, shucks, I'm not that great' persona is a huge sham. Because the person who walks off stage after "Song for Me" definitely knows he's amazing and hot and looks super-cool with that one sleeve always pushed up (even if it might be a way for him to remember which is his left side, like Judy Garland's character's garter in Easter Parade).

I thought about doing something more focused, but clearly I just went crazy and wasn't able to pick anything to stick to -- so, sixteen mini-picspams! Arrgh. And I realized that, although I used to be completely accustomed to orange-haired Ohno, I was kind of startled by the color when I started watching these older videos. I appreciate his laziness about hair things (except for keeping it short) if it means black for a while. I suspect that orange would look pretty awful with his dark tan.

Ohno as baby... kind of creeps me out. People call him baby-faced, but he's really not once that bonnet goes on, and no baby should be that sunburned or angry. Sho actually looks more baby-like with the bonnet -- though I can't decide why he put it on backwards yesterday. Maybe it was going to be a comedy point, but it doesn't seem like they ever got to it, since they were more focused on making Ohno 'cry'. Which was actually kind of cute.

I am also amused by the relative resilience of their hairstyles after the various wigs. And impressed, as always, by their ability to make asses of themselves (and potentially fail to be funny) in front of people -- because normally they don't have an audience other than staff for the cheap-ass episodes.

Sounds like we're all being eaten alive by RL! I am also not getting a 'break' by going to visit my sister -- I suspect that the five-month-old infant nephew is not going to be restful at all. And even though I'm going to be traveling for about ten hours today and ten on Friday (including airport time), I doubt I'll get much done on my freshman papers, reading, lesson-planning, job-applying. I still have 11 lit papers to try to finish in the next four hours, plus try to write a paper assignment before I go, plus there are 32 freshman papers to take with me, along with the next two weeks' worth of renaissance lit readings to plan with. I'm not taking the 30 annotated bibliographies -- something to welcome me back, I guess. Arrgh!

See how I just wrote a really long comment to avoid grading? I guess I could have done two separate ones...

Thanks for wandering over, both of you, and good luck to us all getting through all our visits and work an stuff.

*hugs*

A zillion years late, I know ^^;; flange5 November 28 2009, 20:00:39 UTC
Hey you! We're back from Illinois, and I'm finally getting around to catching up on LJ, while the cat dances around the bench (I'm on the porch so we can hang out but she can still be outside ^^;;

Our neighbor who took care of her fed her turkey and she obviously loves the neighbor now and I'm feeling all jeaouls ^^; But it's good she obviously is untraumatized.

which makes you wonder why he ends up doing that duck-footed walk whenever he tries to sing and walk to the song's rhythm at the same time (see "Kitto Daijobu" PV, for one).

Because he's obviously awesome and loves messing with our minds ^^ I do kind of love the sense you get occasionally when he saunters like that that he absolutely knows he's hot ^^; Usually, I find that a turn-off, but with Ohno, much like Sho, there's so much on the other side of that scale that instead of being obnoxious, it just adds depth strangely ^^;; Or I could be a delusional fangirl, who knows.

I loved the scattered picspam&hearts

I thought about something like that, mostly because I had 3 different episodes I was tempted by, but I ended up going with the tofu explosion because it suited my mood at the time.

I graded 18 short papers and 17 long annotated bibliographies on the two planes. So I just have one more bibliography that I accidentally left on campus, and I'll be done with that round of grading, until Tuesday, when I get another stack ^^; And I still haven't written my self-evaluation yet . . . mmmph.

Ohno's tan + the bleached air sounds like a very bad idea . . .

But yes, that AnS was completely awesome \o/ And RL is pretty much out of control >_<

And I totally write long comments as procrastination, too ^^;;

No, no, Ohno cannot but be adorable, even when he's knowingly flaunting his goods. Does it add 'depth'? Sure, if it dispels the illusion that he's just a fluff-brained space cadet. And I am amused when it's done with irony. I watched 'Guests of Room 0' last night, since all four parts are finally subbed, and I was struck with the giggles at the moment (in the first ep?) when Hiro asks the girlfriend, 'what exactly do you like about me?' while posing on the little steps with his butt so nicely displayed. That was the first time I knew that 'kakkoi' was also a synonym for 'tight little ass'.

Well, I am very impressed with you for getting so much done over break. As always, you have a better work ethic than I do, which is probably why you have a real job and I am a slave to freshman comp -- which, ironically, both give me more work to do and makes me absolutely not want to do it. I only got about 20 papers marked (because I fall asleep on planes), and I still have to do comments -- typed comments for 25 or so lit papers and the little chart for the small class of comp. I can probably get this all done today, if I develop some motivation soonish. Haven't begun to mark the other comp class or the lit kids' ABs, but I am pretty much resigned to having a terrible week. Again.

I like teaching. It's just a shame that there has to be all this grading along with it.
