Just gonna squeal over Arashi a little. “Crazy Moon - Kimi wa Muteki” at Utaban the other day.
Pimptastic.
Okay, maybe that adjective only applies to MatsuJun and his fabulous purple fedora. It only lacks a lavender-dyed pheasant feather. And maybe a long fake-fur coat and a walking stick with a gold knob on the top.
Also loving the purple net half-length tie that looks kind of like it’s made out of those netting bags you get onions in.
("It's cool, baby!" he seems to say.)
Even Ohno is a little pimptastic. Or at least, he seems to leer if serendipitously capped.
Aiba… seems to have forgotten his performance outfit and was forced to dance in warm-ups.
He looks great, of course (it’s Aiba!), but a little off-theme.
But seriously, an awesome performance with lots of fast, sharp movements. The beginning is particularly nice:
I'm a sucker for the Shiva line and all its variations.
Also, Jun and Sho play patty-cake.
Eek! I’m sorry, Sho! I won’t mock you anymore!
(Not maliciously, anyway.)
No, Nino, you may not have my soul to play with today. Last time you got it all dirty...
But you’re kind of dancing less floppily than usual!
A-and there are the tiny little pelvic thrusts. Or maybe just twitches, but definitely pelvic action.
How often are Sho’s pants and Nino’s pants both tighter than Jun’s?
This little sequence is kind of awesome. (And I’m pretty sure Sho’s on the floor as an intentional part of the choreography.)
Nino! Wah!
I love the way we’re clearly not supposed to pay attention to Sho (and presumably Jun) in the back row. It’s like when little kids think they’re hiding when they cover their eyes.
I also like the way Ohno's pants are barely clinging to his ass there.
Sho: Is my finger bending weird?
I think Utaban’s second cameraman went to film school. Otherwise, we would never have this artsy shot of Sho's boots. (I still can't figure out how he dances in heavy boots.)
But oooh, red lighting! This must be the intense dance break!
Actually, it’s pretty cool! Particularly the layered entrances.
Not sure why Nino gets to bust a move all solo, though.
Seriously, does Nino have proper tendons and ligaments? He’s so floppy, and he can take straight-legged kicks way too high for a guy.
Nino commands the return of normal lighting for his solo verse. And it is good.
Though probably the staff shouldn't be supporting him in any delusions of godlike power. And the rest of the boys definitely should not be bowing to his might...
All in all, an excellent performance! I love it when they dance!
Fortunately, they do this for me relatively frequently. ^_^
