Return to Sunnydale - with a surprise or two.

The interior of the Inn had a depressing familiarity when I returned to Sunnydale last night. They always seem to be celebrating a festival. This time it's Halloween, of course. The majesty of All Hallows reduced to virulent orange pumpkins and paper bats. The blond woman with the Liecestershire accent was still on the desk. It might be interesting - or at least profitable - to find out why she looks so tense, but not tonight. She doesn't seem susceptible to my charm. Charms might be another matter, of course. She was really annoyingly uninterested; quite impatient.

She tried to offer me "my old room" as though it was a privilege. I said that I'd prefer a sea view, this time. I have no great interest in waves and gulls, but I suspect that the room I used on Valentines Day would be too strong a reminder of the nightmare that I had on my last visit, after an accident with a drug I had brought as a reminder for old Ripper.

The dream destroyed my taste for alcohol for some time, and I still dislike being near any woman who has been drinking. I should never have carried that drug in the packing that I used.

I've been much more careful about my latest little gift for old Ripper and his young friends. They're safer to handle, too. Pumpkin-shaped sweeties. Little glossy coloured spheres, typical gob-stoppers - just perfect for Trick or Treat!
