I had intended to go for a long walk, away from the Inn. However,
I encountered Professor Walsh in the parking area. After a short discussion I told her I was returning to my room and gave her the telephone number.
However, I turned away from the Inn before passing under the sign proclaiming that the first drink is free. That offer seems popular. Indeed, the guests are radiating a “party atmosphere” that can probably be heard for a considerable distance.
I had the impression that the festivities were extending beyond the bar, and the good Professor had mentioned talking to Rupert Giles. If he is at the Inn I have no wish to alert him to my presence at this point. In point of fact, if the “Finnegan’s Green" alcohol is what I suspect, I would rather avoid any exposure to it, or to those who have consumed it. At least, for the moment.
In any case, I still feel a little shaky after my accidental ingestion of the drug that I brought to Sunnydale. I certainly do not want to risk alcohol consumption at this point. (In actual fact, after the
hallucinatory experience that I underwent earlier I do wonder if I will ever want to sample alcohol again! I can only hope it will not affect my relationships with the fair sex. Certainly I find the idea of a drunken woman somewhat repulsive, at the moment.)
On giving these matters mature consideration I decided to drive into town - slowly and carefully - and look over the “Magic Box” shop. Apparently Ripper owns that, now. There may be other changes that I should know about, since my last visit. It is time that I “cased the joint”, so to speak.
