My supervisor informed me that our top intern candidate has accepted our position. Now, the real battle begins - the quest to have enough projects lined up to keep her entertained, and to ensure she has a workspace that is not a glorified storage closet. Word on the street is that one of my cubes might be commandeered for a new full-time employee. I will not go down without a fight. However, it is hard to make a rational argument that results in letting an intern win out over a full time employee.
Perhaps the best method of assigning cubicles would be to stage Cubefights. Toss two people in, and the last one standing gets the cube. This could have the added benefit of entertaining the interns, as well as providing them with valuable cube fighting skills for their future endeavors.
