YEs we can - Barack Obama the presumptive Democratic nominee

Jun 03, 2008 23:24

CNN keeps reiterating how historic this day is. It's strange - since it's been apparent from this morning that Obama would be over the top tonight (regardless of the final primary results) the actual speeches verifying the fact seem a bit anticlimatic.

Now, I'm alternating between feeling ecstatic about Obama's delegates and incredibly pissed off at Hillary Clinton. Seriously, it's like the women and her advisers live in a little bubble world where the fact that she LOST just hasn't penetrated. I admit I'm a bit envious - I wish I had the ability to live in a reality of my own choosing, regardless of any and all evidence contradicting my worlview. I would be a lot happier, and I would also be the MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE!!

Seriously, I am just hoping she decides to go off and be governor of NY and lets Obama nominate Richardson or Webb for the VP slot.

Additionally, I want to note that John McCain's speech earlier tonight was possibly the worst speech I have heard from any political candidate in a loooooong time. Dear god, if Obama loses this race to the old dude with anger management issues, forget rationality, I am running back to Scandinavia and living in an airport or something. Possibly a box.

Peace

obama
