Hale House, Beacon Hills - Friday Morning

Feb 28, 2014 10:59

Jack
Well, here he was. Creepy house sweet creepy house. It was a warm day but something about it still gave Jack a faint chill.

"Derek?" he called softly, sniffing the air for the other man's scent. "It's Jack."

Kate
It could have been the lingering pain and torment of the people who were burned alive in there. Or maybe the fact that it had been the scene of a firefight last night.

Or because there were hunters still lurking around.

The hunters part was a distinct possibility as there was definitely someone there, hoping the other beta might show up. Though Kate was almost sure there had to be a third. She grabbed one of the stun batons, treading lightly as she watched the blonde.

He was cute.

Jack
The blond wasn't finding anyone -- there was a scent of something human, but so faint he couldn't quite track its source.

He moved into the house warily. Maybe Derek had left a note.

Kate
The house had enough arrows and bullets embedded in the walls to cause a little but of concern for him.

And, on top of that, there was now a woman leaning in one of the doorways. "You lost, sweetheart?"

Jack
Jack started at the noise, muscles jumping under his jacket.

"No," he said shortly, trying to recover. "Are you?"

Kate
"Nah, I'm looking for someone. I get the feeling you are too," she said keeping the baton behind her thigh as she moved closer.

Jack
Jack eyed the arm she was keeping behind her, but stood his ground.

"It doesn't look like anyone's lived here in a long time," he said, which wasn't exactly a lie. The lie would come as soon as he thought of a better one.

Kate
"Here?" That got Kate to laugh. "No, not in, oh... six years now? It's been a while, I'd say."

Jack
"So there's no reason to look for anyone here," Jack pointed out logically. "Why are you laughing?"

Kate
"I just thought of a joke," Kate said, sounding for all intents and purposes like she was letting him on a secret. "Stop me if you've heard it."

At that, she brought her hand up, baton coming up to hit his chest with the sort of shock that would cause a human some serious heart damage.

Jack
Jack hadn't expected her to hit quite so hard quite so soon. He cursed and crumpled around the baton.

He'd get you for this, Kate. Some day, vengeance would be his.

Kate
Pfff. He could try.

Kate put one foot on the other side of his torso, crouching down to straddle him. "A werewolf and a hunter walk into a house," she said, grabbing his face to check for fangs. "You guys aren't exactly subtle with your sniffing, you know."

Jack
No fangs, just sharp, pretty white teeth and a growling sound from deep in Jack's throat.

"Keep that in mind for next time," he said -- or tried to say, which wasn't exactly easy with his face being grabbed and the fact he was still a bit paralyzed. "Cunt."

Kate
"Oh, now you're trying to get me all hot and bothered," Kate replied, moving her hand from his jaw up to grab a fist full of hair. She used that hold to slam his head back against the floor. So much easier to move when they were unconscious.

Jack
Jack ... didn't say anything. Because after the flash of blinding pain, he was knocked out.

Have your way with him, Kate.

Kate
"Time to rise and shine, sleeping beauty," Kate said, giving Jack a gentle slap. She was sweet like that.

Jack
"No," Jack said, disoriented but just aware enough to realize this was a very bad situation he'd found himself in. "Piss off."

Kate
"Don't be like that," she chided. "We could have fun."

Torturey fun.

Derek
There was a low snarl from Derek as she passed him by. He strained against the chains holding him in place, desperate to rip her head off, but too weak to break free and do just that.

The wonders of electricity when applied to the body.

Kate
Kate laughed at him, brushing her hand over the control for the electrical current in warning before just before giving 'why not' shrug and cranking it up to watch Derek squirm.

"You should have seen him when we dragged you in here" Kate said, pitching her voice to be heard over the hum of electricity and noises of pain from Derek. "Did big sis start a pack or did the Alpha that ripped her in half?"

Jack
"Neither of them, you idiot," Jack answered, wincing to see Derek tortured. "Do I sound like I'm from here?"

This might have not been an ideal way to talk to the woman who had him chained up.

Kate
"No, but animals come from all over," Kate replied, turning the dial back down so she could keep this going longer.

"Come on, Derek," she said with a grin. "He killed your sister. Now, either you're not telling me because, well, you want to kill him yourself."

Possible.

"Or for some reason... you're protecting him." Kate wrinkled her nose in pleasure at the look on his face. "Look at that sour face. I bet you get people coming up to you saying, 'Smile, Derek.' 'Why don't you smile more?' Don't you just wanna kick those people in the face?"

Derek
"I can think of one," Derek said, now that he could breathe and the attention wasn't on Jack.

Getting him caught was the last thing Derek had wanted.

Jack
Jack didn't blame Derek at all; it hadn't been Derek's bright idea to go sniffing around the house alone and knowing hunters were a possibility.

This one, Jack was taking all on himself.

He glanced over at Derek, eyes cool. He was straining not to let Kate see how worried he was. "She talks a lot, doesn't she?"

Kate
"Oh, I don't want to just talk," Kate drawled, walking over to where Jack was strung up to give him a once over. "What happened to that cute little high schooler of yours, Derek?"

Derek
Derek snarled, straining against the chains again. Because that was a completely subtle reaction, buddy.

Jack
Jack twisted away, trying to avoid Kate's gaze but mostly just succeeding at scraping himself against the wall.

He said nothing at all.

Kate
"Don't want to catch up?" Kate asked, mercifully abandoning Jack for the moment. "Aww, c'mon. What about all the good times we had?"

Derek
"Like the time you burned my family alive?" Derek demanded, not looking away from her.

Kate
"No, I was thinking more about the hot, crazy sex we had. But the fire thing. Yeah, that was fun too," Kate said, getting in close. Just shy of his reach even as he snapped at her like a rabid dog.

"I love how much you hate me," she said with a pleased little sigh. "Remember how this felt?"

Kate ducked low, hands on his hips to hold him steady so that she could lick a line up his stomach.

Jack
Jack went bright red in anger. Watching Kate do that reminded him of --

Things he didn't think about, and he wasn't about to start now. He drew a breath to steady himself. No matter how many chains and toys Kate had, it was still two against one; everything would be fine if he remembered that.

"Did you have to tie him up then, too?" he asked.

Kate
Kate turned away from Derek to focus on the fresh meat. "Back then? Oh, darling. He was aching for it. Teenagers. They can go all night, you know."

Jack
A glance at Derek confirmed Kate wasn't lying.

Which was gross. And this was coming from somebody who'd been hot for a vampire when he was 15.

"Then congratulations, you seduced a teenage boy," Jack said, and it was getting very hard not to sound as anxious as he felt. "Almost as difficult as stealing from a church collection plate, isn't it?"

Kate
"Aww. You want a go?" she asked, pressing her hand against his thigh. "I guess I can make an exception. Derek can even watch. And then? I'll put a bullet in both of you and forget you even existed."

Wow, Kate. Wow.

"Want me to destroy another pack, Derek? Or are you going to tell me who the other beta is?"

Derek
Derek stayed silent, the only response was uneven breathing as guilt and fear threatened to overwhelm him. He tried desperately to hold onto his normal rage, but the situation was hopeless even for his standards.

Jack
"I don't want to catch whatever you have," Jack snarled, claws emerging at the tips of his fingers for the barest second before he got under control again. "Look, I don't even know who the other beta is. You aren't going to get what you want from me."

Kate
"Well, then. You're absolutely useless to me other than as leverage," Kate said with a smile. "Derek, how about your friend meets some of my friends."

Derek
"You do that and I'll make sure you don't leave here alive." Oh, brave words from the guy chained up, Derek.

Jack
Jack yanked hard at his bonds, not sure if they were really coming away from the wall or if it was just his imagination.

"Same thing I said before," he noted. "You like to talk. In a fair fight against either of us, you wouldn't last a minute."

He was quite aware this was probably stupid. He just didn't care.

Kate
"Yeah, I'm sure," Kate said, bringing the stun baton from before up to hit Jack. Because someone was getting lippy. "Think on it, boys."

Jack
Jack howled in pain, then fell silent.

For the second time in his life, he was almost certain he was going to die.

Derek
Derek only let his head drop once she was out of the room, leaving them to stew over her threats. "Can you get free?"

Jack
"Can't tell," Jack admitted, tugging again and harder and feeling the slightest give. "It feels like -- something, but I don't know if it'll be enough before she comes back. You?"

Derek
Derek shook his head. "The electricity. They use enough to keep us from healing or using our strength."

Jack
"Well, that explains why the back of my head still feels like a bus ran over it," Jack said darkly. "I feel like an idiot. I come trying to help you and instead I get caught and make it worse."

He yanked at the chain again, not expecting anything to happen.

Derek
Derek just looked away. Because, hey, what's one more person who knew that you were the cause of your entire family's deaths!

He was even including Laura in that one.

"Barton won't let them kill you." But, you know, not Derek.

Jack
Jack snorted in disbelief. "Right. No disrespect meant, but I don't think Clint could do the first thing about it if she came back right now."

He passed another few fruitless seconds trying to yank at the chains from a different angle, before deciding it was storytime.

"How did you get tangled up with that, anyhow?"

'That' being the hunter who killed Derek's entire family. Because that wasn't an insensitive question or anything.

Derek
Derek looked away, pulling fruitlessly on the chains holding him rather than deal with that question. "Why does it matter?"

Jack
"It doesn't really," Jack acknowledged. "But your ex has us chained up and tortured. Thought there might be a story there."

Derek
Derek huffed, staring up at the ceiling of his burned out basement. Wasn't this the best place to be held captive? Wasn't it?

"I was an idiot teenager." Recovering from a completely improbable backstory that only worked if you ignored basic things like time.

Jack
The basement was definitely in Jack's all-time top ten list of places to be held captive.

Jack huffed back. "And she flashed her cleavage until you couldn't think?" he guessed. "Fantastic."

Derek
That got Derek to hunch inwards with shame, well aware that this was all his fault. Because that was his lot in life, you know.

"She worked at the school."

Jack
"Of course she did," Jack said, yanking against his chains one more time. Just for kicks.

He paused long enough to twist and get a better look at Derek. "It wasn't your fault," he said. "We're all idiots at that age. Remind me to tell you about Irina sometime."

Derek
"When we get out of here." They could have ice cream and talk about their trauma. Maybe watch some bad movies.

Kate
The door shoved back open to the room as Kate walked back in, phone to her ear as she listened to yet another voicemail from her brother demanding to know where she was.

She sighed, trailing her hand over the controls for the electricity keeping them in place. "Unfortunately, boys, if you're not gonna talk, I'm just gonna have to kill you." She shrugged like that those were just the breaks. "So say hi to Laura for me."

Jack
"The fucking hell you are," Jack said in a low voice.

Not that he had any idea how to get away, but he didn't intend to die here. Not like this.

Kate
"Aww, c'mon babe," Kate said, wrinkling her nose at Jack. "Don't worry. I won't leave loose ends this time. Chris will take out this alpha and I'll help him hunt down whoever the younger beta is. I'm thinking... Jackson. With those claw marks on his neck."

Then she paused, as though something was coming to her.

"Or maybe it's history repeating itself."

Derek
The flash of fear that Derek couldn't keep off his face was probably enough to give it away. Because he was Derek Hale and his life was the absolute worst thing ever.

Kate
Her face lit up and she grabbed her phone. "And it's a shame. Scott had the cutest brown eyes."

Jack
No.

Every cell in Jack's body was screaming to get away, but all his struggles on that point had no effect. He decided not to give Kate the satisfaction of seeing his fear. He stopped fighting, went still, and squared his shoulders against whatever was coming next.

Somehow, they would live. He had to stay certain of that. He just didn't see how.

[[NFI and NFB, duh. Taken from Formality. Preplayed with the ever lovely justlurkinghere. Once again, canon levels of violence with a wee bit of torture and references to sexual abuse.]]
