This weekend was awesome! Okay, it started off poorly with me answering work emails till 11 pm for I believe the third time that week, but... yeah.
Anyway, Saturday Paul and I drove up to Boston for the Strange Horizons reading. I think I did pretty well, even if I didn't get all the way through my mushy love poem ;) I met some great and interesting writers and I hope to stay in contact with them in the future. And there were so many lovely people that came out to support me, I was really thrilled. There was a
shadesong and family! ^_^ And a Dana!! And so many others, you are all the best!! I felt very loved and happy. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!
Later we went to Sin-o-matic (am I spelling that right?). There was some great costumes and some pretty darn good music (and bad music too), but it was a lot of fun to dress up with everyone and dance and hang out. I turned into a pumpkin at midnight though, I'm oooooold
The next morning, we had a nice chill breakfast with K&J who were very nice to let us crash at their place (and poor K was answering work emails till 1 am!!) and then we went down to RI to meet with two potential caterers.
Both were really great, but only one gave us a tasting -- BUT MY GOD, what a tasting. I don't think we could go wrong with either one, but MAN...
okay, homemade pasta with a pumpkin cream sage sauce? And grilled veggies that made even PAUL swoon?
wow.
And the cakes were spectacular too. Apple spice, carrot, key lime, chocolate ganache, red velvet, lemon... all VERY good.
We came home just in time to see the Pats lose (boo!) and Peyton beat up his younger brother (funny, but still boo! much as I dislike the Giants, I dislike mr. whiney-pants even more)
And now it's back to office reality... noooooo!!!!
