I saw Street Kings yesterday morning.
It wasn't bad for what it was, but it would've fit in much better had it been made in 1995 when it was written.
Hugh is an important character and has about 5 scenes of decent length and I'd guess about maybe 20 or slightly more minutes of screen time.
Despite the US trailer and poster's attempts to make it look like a movie starring rappers, The Game's in it for about all of five minutes and if you saw the US trailer, you basically saw Common's entire scene.
I know some of you might want to know the answer to this burning question, so here it is:
Does Hugh's character die? And, if so, does he at least get a cool death scene?
Plus a couple of other non-plot-spoiling tid-bits about him.
***If you're looking at this post from a direct link, here's where the spoilers start*****
As I'm sure you're going to be hearing soon enough, his first scene is in a hospital - it starts out as a light scene, as opposed to the rest of the movie where he's more intense. And, he does drop the f-bomb with his House accent, fulfilling many fantasies I'm sure. Not surprising considering that this is one of those movies where 'fuck' is said more often than 'a', 'and', or 'the'. Also, the door has been swung wide open for slash fic about Hugh's character without even the slightest bit of imagination stretching. I'll just leave it at that.
To answer the big question: Hugh's character does not die. In fact, he's one of the few characters still in one piece at the end. But, he also doesn't shoot anybody or have any conflict on-screen with others apart from verbal -- but, oh, that one-sided argument with Forest's character is a distracting good one.
