the phone call came today, finally,
and though it's a month late
it made all the difference in the world

Actually, looking for other folks who also like typewriters (i have a 40's vintage Underwood portable).
Since i'm in a weird mood lately, i added you to most of my friend categories/filters.
That's not you in your photo, is it?
Anyway, thanks again for adding me.

No problem! Just keep in mind that I almost never post into my journal.
Yes that is me in my usepic. Is that you in yours?

Yup, all my photos are actually me (well, obviously beside the ones featuring inanimate objects!)
Why don't you post more often?

I'm not quite sure... My journal is there for the times I feel I need it--and I suppose I haven't needed it for quite some time now!
It's a good thing :)

no news is good news, huh? i can deal with that.
one more question, if i may: what is the significance of the name "sa7ra"? (maybe i am missing something obvious?)
thanks

of course you may :)

'sa7ra' (more accurately spelled ṣaḥrā´ to represent all sounds in the word accurately) is an Arabic word which literally means desert in English. However, it also carries all the symbolism the word 'desert' tends to carry in the English language (which is what I was going for here).

Since there are some sounds in the Arabic alphabet which do not exist in the English alphabet, the number 7 has come to informally represent the hard H sound in Arabic.

The world's largest desert (The Sahara) gets its name from the Arabic word ṣaḥrā´

Here's the Wikipedia reference (in the intro) if you're interested:

thank you, that is fascinating. guess i really can learn something new every day ;)
would you mind adding me to your frinds list? i don't think i can see anything other than public posts. if you don't want to add me, though, i take no offense.

since i asked your name's meaning, i'll let you know that mine's a conjugation of "photographer" and "gebirgsjäger" (german mountain soldier). not overly subtle, but i think it works.

Hi, I will add you just as soon as I get a chance to make some room for you. You see, I'm apart of many very active communities and I have a few friends as well and so I find my friend's page quite crowded with posts already. I like to read everything that pours in there, and you are a frequent poster.I often wish that LJ had an option to add someone as a friend without 'watching' them. They have it for communities, but not individuals ( ... )
