Exploring Pittsburge

Dec 15, 2017 10:10

We had a full day in Pittsburge and so we drove down to the town square where's there a small Christmas market.

Besides the market, there's this prominent building with black glass, more restaurants and a few shops.

It was still quite early and hence the Christmas market is very quiet.

It was close to 0 deg but thankfully it was a sunny day.

Good thing about this Christmas market is there are all these shops besides the stalls and we love the shops since it shielded us from the cold. 😊

Starting a snow fight at the sidewalk.

Seong drove us up to Mount Washington where we could get a good vantage view of the city. Pittsburge used to be known as "the steel city" as it used to be producing a third of the nation's steel at its peak. It's is also known for its many bridges.

We went for a second movie "Murder on the Oriental Express" which is based on a novel written by Agatha Christie.

Dinner was at this Hofbrahaus just next to our hotel. We were pretty surprised to see that the restaurant was quite full. A joyous guy was playing the accordion on the stage and there were a few Birthday celebrations going on as the guy would get everyone to cheer and sing to the birthday boy/ girl. The atmosphere was very happy and festive and it was the first time we heard the German toast with "Chicka chicka chicka hoo hoo hoo! Chicka chicka chicka hoo hoo hoo! "

It was only 6+pm but so dark already.

And of course we must complete a German dinner with a sampler of their beer. 😊
