Shenzhen furniture shopping

Today I went to Shenzhen with Simon and Thelmis and their friend Catalina for furniture shopping. I had previously heard of people who went furniture hunting at Shenzhen but never knew where, so I was curious to find out. Simon drove all of us to Sheung Shui, parked the car there and we took the MTR to Luo Hu, just one stop away. There was no queue at the custom, such a breeze to cross over to Shenzhen. When we reached Luo Wu, Simon went to collect his glasses. It's much cheaper to make glasses in Shenzhen than in Hong Kong. We then proceed to their regular restaurant -- 丹桂轩 at the top floor of Luo Hu Commercial City. Another of their friend Cindy, who is a local staying at Shenzhen met us there.

After a hearty brunch, we took cab to this 宝安北路 家之福 博览中心。The cab fare was only 24 RMB. This is a 6 storey building furniture mall.

There are two shops on the second floor that I like. One is 通典(203)and the other one is 尚品(212)。

I saw a marble top dining table at 通典(203)and the saleslady quoted me 3900RMB for size 1600x800, transportation to Hong Kong around 450RMB. If the size is slightly bigger 1800x1000, it will be 4300RMB and 600RMB for delivery.

Some kids' furniture set.

Thelmis and Simon managed to customised a three seater leather sofa (3m long) for around 3500RMB and a super single sized bed with a trundle for 2200RMB.

I also made a spare pair of glasses for Anna for an amazingly affordable price of 200RMB!

It was quite a fruitful trip and we managed to get back to our house in Hong Kong at around 5:30pm. "P
