I went back to Lei Yue Mun again to explore the trail from Devil's Peak to Lam Tin. This time I went with two of my friends and had the good fortune of being dropped off somewhere at 32 Kai Chiu Road which is the start of the upward slope walk towards Devil's Peak.
Otherwise to get to the start of the trail:
From Yau Tong MTR station exit A1, pass Lei Yue Mun Plaza, walk to Ko Chiu Road roundabout, and walk up the road towards Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery. Turn left, up the Wilson Trail.
This blog has very details walking and pictorial instructions.
.
The first park of the walk is exactly the same as what we did previously.
It didn't take too long for us to have a good view of the Eastern side of Hong Kong Island. Thanks to the easterner Saipoh who was able to point the various building and now I know, just as there's a One Island South, there is also One Island East.
Except for one long flight of staircase, it was paved road all the way up and hence, a very easy walk.
The old Kai Tak Airport which is now the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal.
We can see ICC, IFC and One Island East.
From Devil's Peak, we took the path towards Lam Tin, again it was paved road all the way.
With winter approaching, I hope I can still see many of such blue sky day.
At 25 degree with a gentle breeze, you just want to linger a little longer to drink in this view.
I am guessing the green space is Clearwater golf course.
A big contrast from the bustling city view.
Facing the wonderful view is this Tsueng Wan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery.
It is very neat, clean and pretty.
The signage just after we passed the cemetery, and so there's just another slight over 1 km to Lam Tin.
This is actually part of the Wilson Trail Stage 3. The Wilson Trail (Stage 3) extends from Yau Tong, along the Devil's Peak, through Ma Yau Tong and reaches Tseng Lan Shue, 9.3 km in total.
Very different view from earlier, now we see the housing estates.
And we saw where we came from, that's the Devil's Peak. "P
I am sure there are regulars who walk this route often and care for the fellow hikers.
The walk goes on to O King road and from there we took a ride to Popcorn Mall to have our lunch.
