Namine had a terrible existence, I suspect; I want to write about her and Marluxia at some point. I hadn't noticed, but there's this line in Chain of Memories where Axel calls her his "mascot." It really drives home for me this image of GentlemanlyPsychotic!Marluxia fetching her and "raising" her. (Particularly bad in my mind because my Kairi has met kay_willow's Marluxia and found him charming. That she didn't think of it as being an act or feel like her life was in danger makes me think that Marluxia would be very good at manipulating her, and by extension...)
Riku would like to be Namine's shining knight. In my head, when Sora fell asleep and, therefore, broke his promise, part of Riku just decided to keep it in his stead. Until he woke up, until he remembered her and could keep it himself. But the whole Ansem thing sort of short-circuited that, because Riku can't be anyone's shining knight now. He doesn't even want her to look at him anymore.
And my babble! Whoa. ♥ Sorry. These are all new thoughts. So they had to come out somehow.
