So,
I have quite a nice horoscope for this month - this year is supposed to be rather prosperous as far as career advancement and building is concerned - and starting next weekend there is supposed to be a rather advantageous four weeks. Hmm. We'll see how that goes. I hope it comes true in a big way - especially since I applied to somewhat of a 'dream company' of mine to work for - and the position its self, while probably not overly prestigious - is something that would be really fun, engaging, and just awesome to have. So, trying to stay optimistic.
Last Monday, I actually went and saw the Rose Parade - in person! Got to the parade route around...2:30am, and didn't get back home until about 4pm. It was a pretty awesome experience to see the floats and hear the band for oneself - however, this year's parade wasn't as spectacular as some of the past years. It almost seamed like there was more bands this year. I also didn't get to see much of the rope trick groups either - there seamed to be a little less groups this year as well, which sucked, as I love seeing those!
I have to note this one out-of-country guest band - they are from Japan and damn - they blew everyone out of the water - fucking spectacular performance! They were fun to watch - and they were so cheerful and just so thrilled to be in the parade.
So the bands that participate in the Rose Parade also do a parade at Disneyland in the last few days of the year:

And then they all perform at what's called Bandfest - another type of performance - its a show of their parade performance, and then they march, so you see what it looks like during the parade itself. This band fucking kills all:

I would hate to be the band after that!
I also went to Disneyland, and I was at the rose parade because someone I know was in the Pasadena Honor Band. I don't think i've ever been to Disneyland during the holidays - and if I have, I don't remember. It wasn't the greatest trip as outside of seeing the parade (from a great spot too!) I didn't get to do anything but eat and walk around, really. We weren't there all day - getting there about 1pm-ish, so already time gone. I had wanted to do three rides - Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Tours - the wait time for Indiana Jones was fucking 3 hours. Pirates was about 2.5. Star Tours was only about 75 minutes - but by that time the day and trip had to end - was out with baby toddlers, injured moms....and it was so crazy crowded.... left around....it was early 8-ish? Shortest trip to Disneyland I've ever done.
It was nice however, to see it all done-up for Christmas. I took some video and pictures of the main Christmas parade; I'll have to upload those soon, seeing as I'm currently sick (Thank you Disneyland for ushering that in - I got a (low) fever the next day that persisted for two days, leveled out, then died on Thursday with total weakness and a few visits of "stomach acid"- its been going up and down)....not going to happen.
Well then, I think i'll be off now, make marry with my PSP - Crisis Core sounds good about now.....
