Sisterhood of the DARK Pants!

I went with my mom and sisters to shop for jeans today, and surprised myself by finding a really excellent pair. It's always a gamble for me--I apparently have a bizarre butt-to-thigh ratio, leaving me with extra room in one and skintight on the other. It can take dozens of pairs before I can find something that doesn't make me look either like a pair of blue, overstuffed turkey drumsticks with a regular-fitting bottom, or space for my legs but a rear that threatens to creep its way to freedom at any moment. It's not a size thing, I've tried everything between 4 and 9 with the same results. And on top of the saga of the sizing, I'm picky about color. Regular, cowboy-denim-jacket denim isn't gonna cut it. I'll pass on the ballboint-blue pairs. I sneer at green-tinted stonewash, and don't even show me paper-light faded stuff, I'll treat it as a personal offense. I want dark.
Dark denim has made me swoon for years--the richer the indigo, the better. I want it so that I can't sit on a white couch until I've washed them twice, for fear of leaving smudges. Lizzie complains that it'll be boring if I'm always in deep shades, but I disagree. I see a huge difference between blackish-blue with tiny white flecks in the material, and matte midnight like the ones I found today. Which, btw, also meet all the fitting requirements above, and are size 5.  Well, 5 short, which was a little sad, as I'm five-five-and-a-half, but you can't have everything.
