"I'll distract him," Kennedy polished off her glass of champagne, watching their target as he attempted to slip through the crowded ballroom towards the exit.
Masataka quirked his brow, his own eyes not leaving their target either, "With what?"
Shrugging, Kennedy ducked partially behind her broader teammate's back to rearrange her breasts as discreetly as possible, "With, you know... things."
Kennedy is 5' 7" tall, weighing about 135 lbs. Her body measurements are 34C-25-37; she is curvy, but athletic as she is a trained dancer. Her eyes and hair are both a dark brown, and her hair goes down to just under the bottom edge of her shoulderblades when it's brushed back. She has two tattoos on her person - one is an intricate and colorful tattoo on her lower back which is celtic in nature ( link to picture) and wraps around so that the edges end on either side along her hipbones in front, as well as the outline of a white lotus on the inside of her left wrist ( link to picture). Kennedy has a slightly broad European accent from the combination of her time growing up in London, but spending a lot of time with family in both Ireland and Spain.
If I were going to cast what she looked like, facially speaking, I would use the actress Iyari Limon.

Ben stiffened for a moment and then replied in a rush, "I'm kinda seein' somebody."
"Ah, Ben, c'mon! Not every girl with a compliment is trying to get in your pants. Budge over, buddy," A hand hooked around one rocky bicep and Johnny tugged his friend aside to get a peek into the office, "Hey Sue, obviously we're back. And hello to you," His eyes skimmed her quickly; noting the pinstriped pencil skirt that hugged along curving hips and slim legs, the airy blouse that provided a triangle of tanned skin at the top and hinted at a generous swell of breasts beneath it.
She was dark eyes and full lips painted Ferrari red. Her brown hair was twisted up loosely and pinned back. The whole effect was very Hot For Teacher and Johnny grinned.
"Wow. Suddenly, I feel like being very fiscally responsible. Ow! Ben, gimme a break, man! I'm running on like, two and a half hours of sleep here."
Smiling, Kennedy looked back at Sue, "This would be your baby brother, then?"

Wisdom sighed and fixed her with a look of exasperation, "Would you prefer the posher term of 'homo superior'? Because I guarantee you that's not going to win us any friends either."

Kennedy's mutant abilities are superhuman strength, stamina and durability as well as flight (think of Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel). She is also a trained ritualist, though not capable of "on the fly" magic casting (more about that in the history section). Also, Kennedy possesses a natural ability with languages, speaking Spanish, Galician, Gaelic, Latin, Portuguese, French, Mandarin, Italian, and German.

Kennedy's brow drew together in confusion and she spared a brief glance to her teammate, seeing her own expression reflected. Whatever the hell Omega Red was on about, the message was not translating.
Plus, she'd had about enough of him tearing apart Trafalgar.
Sighing, she cut him off in the middle of his gather impressive rant in Russian, "Yeah, sorry mate, but I don't speak Sputnik," She shrugged apologetically and threw a car at him.
Kennedy is an outgoing, compassionate, focused individual with a wicked sense of humor. She's grown up in a very supportive environment and was raised to take an active interest in the things she cares about.
She is a confident woman and has a great interest in getting others involved in the things she believes we all have to take a vested interest in. Kennedy believes that nothing happens without a reason and that everything is connected.
If there is one area in which Kennedy lacks focus or confidence, it is romantically. She has not seriously dated anyone in several years, choosing instead to focus on her career and the projects with which she is involved. (More on why in her history)

-Kennedy's most embarassing moment was when she was five years old and had just been given the 'stranger danger' talk by her parents. Not too long after, her parents took her to a fancy restaurant. When the waiter went to flip the napkin out and place it in her lap she began screaming "Bad touch!" at the top of her lungs. Her mother was mortified. Her father thought it was the funniest thing he'd ever seen.
-Kennedy is a bit of a petrolhead thanks in large part to her father. She inherited his love of cars as well as a deep appreciate for all things James Bond. Due to this fact, Kennedy owns two cars - an 2008 Aston Martin DBS which has crossed the pond with her, as well as a 1957 Aston Martin DB Mark III which is still in London.
-Kennedy walked in on her fiance, Roger, sleeping with another friend of theirs who was only 18 at the time. She stormed straight out, yanking her ring off as she went and rather than tossing it in the Thames she dropped the trinket into the hand of the first homeless man she saw. Roger and his family are still trying to find the ring, but have been unable to locate it. On Roger's request, Kennedy remained silent as to who she caught him in bed with, preferring to have it over with rather than helping gossip along.
-About a year after the Roger debacle, Kennedy started dating a guy named David who was an actor in off-Broadway musicals. She dated him so that her family would think she was moving on and getting over the whole messy situation. David dated her so that he could put off telling his parents he was gay for a little while longer. They had many wonderful nights spent drinking wine around the piano in his tiny apartment and singing showtunes. The pair dated for a few months until David finally came out to his parents and they are now good friends.

Sometime around 450 AD at Kil Dara in Ireland (the temple to the Goddess Brigid) there was a young priestess who gave birth to twin sons. As was customary, the sons were raised around the temple in service of Brigid and with a very mystical upbringing. During this time, as it became apparent that Christianity was overtaking the pagan ways, Brigid spoke to the priestess through the high priestess and told her of what she must do to carry on their traditions.
The sons were raised to worship the goddess, keep to the old traditions, practice magic, and protect their secret. When they were of age and were forced to leave the temple. One of the sons, the younger twin, settled in the area nearby. The other son, the older twin, traveled south to the Iberian Peninsula and what is now A Coruna, Spain today.
As the temple was converted into a Christian monastery, the priestess who was chosen, Aoife, hid away the blessed items from the temple in one of the underground caves that the Irish were so fond of digging. While those who still quietly practiced the old ways were aware, the rumors and whispers died away over time and life moved on.
Aoife was granted long life and given the task of steering her sons progeny, ensuring the survival of their religion no matter what as the generations passed.
In modern times, the main family lines are now the Voss family in Ireland and the La Muerta family in Spain. Both, with the aid of their special abilities, have done well over the years.
The Voss family is a highly regarded family of the area and in fact the family castle still stands and is inhabited by the head of the Voss family - Robert; hidden in the surrounding lands is the cave which Aoife still maintains - she could stay in the house, but the cave has been vastly renovated and she finds it homey.
The La Muerta family has a long history in Spain with the Spanish Navy and is Spanish nobility. Santiago La Muerta, the head of the La Muerta family, is a Duke in A Coruna and rather involved in local politics, though not officially.
Through a twist of serendipity, both families ended up in the shipping or freight businesses, the Voss family having founded a company named Caber Shipping and the La Muerta family having founded a company named Serra International.
About thirty years ago, when Santiago and his wife Isabella were in Ireland to see Aoife she brought up the prospect of a merger. The families had been aware of each others presence again for some time now as, with the advant of modern travel, the La Muertas had begun to make pilgrimages back to their home country when the large festivals were being held on Voss land. Aoife proposed that the family bloodline be brought back together now that it was sufficiently split.
Both Robert and Santiago were very open to the prospect and a tentative arrangement was made that Robert's second oldest son, Alan, and Santiago's second oldest daughter, Robia, would be married.
Alan and Robia did not take the news so well.
When Alan saw Robia, however, his opnion was quickly changed. Robia didn't share in his sudden enthusiasm, but her feelings of duty to her family made her acquiesce to the arrangement regardless. It wasn't until almost a year after their engagement that Robia warmed to him, when they were taking a stroll one evening through London where Alan was living at the time and local street toughs attempted to mug them. Alan engaged in fisticuffs and bested two of them, making the third run off. Robia became more interested.
After Alan and Robia were wed, Caber Shipping and Serra International were also merged, forming Caber-Serra International, a world-wide shipping and imports business.
Meanwhile, Alan and his younger brother Jacob had their own business which they had founded several years previously. Voss Industries is a multi-billion dollar international corporation that develops and manufactures weapons and defense technologies primarily in the Aerospace field.
Alan ran the European offices from London, while Jacob ran the offices in the U.S. from Boston. Alan and Robia remained in London after their wedding and soon Robia had given birth to a daughter, Kennedy Isabella La Muerta Voss.
Kennedy had what she would consider a relatively normal childhood. She traveled a lot to stay with family when not attending school, she was brought up learning about the mystical aspects of her family and learning to do ritual with the understanding that when she was fifteen she would inherit her power and become a full-fledged spellcaster. She also began dancing from a young age and it is something that she has loved and stuck with her entire life.
This is where we go back in time a little bit to explain what's about to go wrong. See, before Robia and Alan were married, Alan's older brother Nathan had a daughter - Cynthia. Cynthia stood to inherit leadership of the family when the time came and there was nothing that the child loved better than power.
When Cynthia was 8, she found out that that power was going to be taken away from her - because Kennedy was born. Already on her way to becoming a nice little sociopath, two years later when her mother and father were divorced, Cynthia began blaming the new baby for everything - imagining that it should have been her father that had been promised to Robia thus ensuring her position.
Add to that the fact that when Cynthia was 12 her father remarried and had another child; Cynthia was well down the path to a revenge driven villain. Brilliant, magically gifted, and mentally unstable, Cynthia has hidden her feelings of anger for years and no one in the family is any the wiser to this day.
Now, when the children of the La Muerta and Voss families turn 15 they go through a very traditional awakening ritual at the Imbolc festival - one of the most holy days for the goddess Brigid. The festival lasts from dusk until dawn. There is much eating, drinking, merriment, and as in the old days copulation. At dawn, the new initiate is brought forward by Aoife to help complete the ritual and receive their gift of power from Brigid. Usually the ability to spellcast, sometimes divination, other times healing... it all depends on what the Goddess grants.
When Kennedy was fifteen, on the night of her ritual, Cynthia found a way to block her reception of her powers by using magic and making deals to divert it elsewhere, absorbing it for herself and using true name magic to block Kennedy from Brigid's "sight". The deals she made were to ensure that the process wouldn't be traced back to her. Her thoughts being that without her gifts, Kennedy would have to be set aside as the eventual head of the family and that Cynthia herself would be back in line to inherit the position.
The family was baffled by the turn of events and set about trying to find out what caused it ( click here for additional writing regarding this), though even ten years and many leads later there is still not a solid explanation.
As the months passed and the family had still not made the decision to remove her from power, Cynthia became more and more irritated and a month before Kennedy's 16th birthday Cynthia made a rash decision.
When Kennedy returned from a trip, Cynthia arranged to have her taken from outside the airport. The family bodyguard was traveling with her and while he was putting the bags in the trunk, a seven man team screeched up in a van and took her. Vincent Frost, the bodyguard, broke one's neck before he was shot twice. He knocked another out into traffic, killing him, before losing consciousness.
The cabdriver tried to intervene and was shot and killed, and Kennedy was pulled from the cab and stuffed into a trunk, fighting them the entire way - earning a concussion, two broken right ribs, and a broken left ulna for her efforts.
Kennedy was held in a small abandoned hotel on the outskirts of London for three days, until she manifested her mutant abilities and managed to escape ( click here to read about her initial manifestation). After this and both her and Vincent's recoveries, Vincent spoke to Alan and Robia about taking her somewhere that she could learn about how to control these new powers.
Vincent took her, along with two tutors, and traveled to China and to very little known temple in the mountains of the Qinghai province of China. There she lived and studied with Shaolin masters of the Qi arts where she learned to hone her abilities. Kennedy herself has yet to learn to harness the power of Qi, but used the same principles to control her strength and learn to use her flight.
It was at the White Jade Lotus Temple in China that she got her white lotus tattoo on her wrist, reminding her of her time studying northern shaolin, baguazhang, and dimmak with the masters there.
When she was 18 her trips to China became far less frequent as she settled back in London on a much more regular basis and began attending King's College in London to earn her business degree.
Since the failed attempt when Kennedy was nearly 16, Cynthia has been amassing power, biding her time, and trying to decide how best to finish what she started without getting caught - Kennedy's manifestation making things difficult for her in that aspect.
That same year, Kennedy was introduced to a young man named Roger Spencer by her Spanish grandmother who was good friends with Roger's grandmother and the two had thought Kennedy and Roger to be a good match. The pair began dating and settled into a comfortable routine of life in London. By the time she was 20, Roger had proposed and the two moved into a flat together while engaged to be married.
Roger, whose South African mother had married a titled Englishman, was an architect, rugby fan, and model heliocopter enthusiast. He was also, Kennedy found out three months before the wedding when she was 22, cheating on her.
Brokenhearted and angry, Kennedy begged her father to let her oversee the development of the New York offices of Voss Industries. The company was scooping up disused industrial spaces in Yonkers, New York to revitalize for it's manufacturing space in the U.S. as well as opening an additional office in New York City proper to expand it's business.
Alan agreed without hesitation and Kennedy soon ran off to New York, leaving behind a city that held bad memories.
Kennedy has been in New York for the past three years, having established the Voss Industries sites in that state, she decided to remain in the area and continue to do occasional work for the company while she figured out what she wanted to do next in her life.
She remains very involved with local charities, fundraising and awareness events, as well as having established a small dance school on her own in the city that caters to children and youths unable to afford the cost of dance lessons. The school, Bella Vida Dance Academy, has a small staff and faculty and Kennedy herself will occasionally teach a class.
About nine months ago, Kennedy took a walk around the city late at night - not really concerned for her safety with the her abilities, and interupted an attempted child abduction of a little boy who had run away from home earlier that day and was being pulled into a stranger's van at one in the morning.
She handily dispatched of his would be abductor, called the cops, whisked the little boy off and bought him a late night hot dog before returning him home to his very worried father. That was the first moment she had an inkling to do something more with her abilities and since then has slowly started venturing out more and more, finally giving in 6 months ago and donning a persona to protect her identity.
Kennedy has been superheroing around New York City on her own under the name "Aero".

After Alan and Robia were wed, Caber Shipping and Serra International were also merged, forming Caber-Serra International, a world-wide shipping and imports business.
Meanwhile, Alan and his younger brother Jacob had their own business which they had founded several years previously. Voss Industries is a multi-billion dollar international corporation that develops and manufactures weapons and defense technologies primarily in the Aerospace field.
Alan ran the European offices from London, while Jacob ran the offices in the U.S. from Boston. Alan and Robia remained in London after their wedding and soon Robia had given birth to a daughter, Kennedy Isabella La Muerta Voss.
Kennedy had what she would consider a relatively normal childhood. She traveled a lot to stay with family when not attending school, she was brought up learning about the mystical aspects of her family and learning to do ritual with the understanding that when she was fifteen she would inherit her power and become a full-fledged spellcaster. She also began dancing from a young age and it is something that she has loved and stuck with her entire life.
This is where we go back in time a little bit to explain what's about to go wrong. See, before Robia and Alan were married, Alan's older brother Nathan had a daughter - Cynthia. Cynthia stood to inherit leadership of the family when the time came and there was nothing that the child loved better than power.
When Cynthia was 8, she found out that that power was going to be taken away from her - because Kennedy was born. Already on her way to becoming a nice little sociopath, two years later when her mother and father were divorced, Cynthia began blaming the new baby for everything - imagining that it should have been her father that had been promised to Robia thus ensuring her position.
Add to that the fact that when Cynthia was 12 her father remarried and had another child; Cynthia was well down the path to a revenge driven villain. Brilliant, magically gifted, and mentally unstable, Cynthia has hidden her feelings of anger for years and no one in the family is any the wiser to this day.
Now, when the children of the La Muerta and Voss families turn 15 they go through a very traditional awakening ritual at the Imbolc festival - one of the most holy days for the goddess Brigid. The festival lasts from dusk until dawn. There is much eating, drinking, merriment, and as in the old days copulation. At dawn, the new initiate is brought forward by Aoife to help complete the ritual and receive their gift of power from Brigid. Usually the ability to spellcast, sometimes divination, other times healing... it all depends on what the Goddess grants.
When Kennedy was fifteen, on the night of her ritual, Cynthia found a way to block her reception of her powers by using magic and making deals to divert it elsewhere, absorbing it for herself and using true name magic to block Kennedy from Brigid's "sight". The deals she made were to ensure that the process wouldn't be traced back to her. Her thoughts being that without her gifts, Kennedy would have to be set aside as the eventual head of the family and that Cynthia herself would be back in line to inherit the position.
The family was baffled by the turn of events and set about trying to find out what caused it ( click here for additional writing regarding this), though even ten years and many leads later there is still not a solid explanation.
As the months passed and the family had still not made the decision to remove her from power, Cynthia became more and more irritated and a month before Kennedy's 16th birthday Cynthia made a rash decision.
When Kennedy returned from a trip, Cynthia arranged to have her taken from outside the airport. The family bodyguard was traveling with her and while he was putting the bags in the trunk, a seven man team screeched up in a van and took her. Vincent Frost, the bodyguard, broke one's neck before he was shot twice. He knocked another out into traffic, killing him, before losing consciousness.
The cabdriver tried to intervene and was shot and killed, and Kennedy was pulled from the cab and stuffed into a trunk, fighting them the entire way - earning a concussion, two broken right ribs, and a broken left ulna for her efforts.
Kennedy was held in a small abandoned hotel on the outskirts of London for three days, until she manifested her mutant abilities and managed to escape ( click here to read about her initial manifestation). After this and both her and Vincent's recoveries, Vincent spoke to Alan and Robia about taking her somewhere that she could learn about how to control these new powers.
Vincent took her, along with two tutors, and traveled to China and to very little known temple in the mountains of the Qinghai province of China. There she lived and studied with Shaolin masters of the Qi arts where she learned to hone her abilities. Kennedy herself has yet to learn to harness the power of Qi, but used the same principles to control her strength and learn to use her flight.
It was at the White Jade Lotus Temple in China that she got her white lotus tattoo on her wrist, reminding her of her time studying northern shaolin, baguazhang, and dimmak with the masters there.
When she was 18 her trips to China became far less frequent as she settled back in London on a much more regular basis and began attending King's College in London to earn her business degree.
Since the failed attempt when Kennedy was nearly 16, Cynthia has been amassing power, biding her time, and trying to decide how best to finish what she started without getting caught - Kennedy's manifestation making things difficult for her in that aspect.
That same year, Kennedy was introduced to a young man named Roger Spencer by her Spanish grandmother who was good friends with Roger's grandmother and the two had thought Kennedy and Roger to be a good match. The pair began dating and settled into a comfortable routine of life in London. By the time she was 20, Roger had proposed and the two moved into a flat together while engaged to be married.
Roger, whose South African mother had married a titled Englishman, was an architect, rugby fan, and model heliocopter enthusiast. He was also, Kennedy found out three months before the wedding when she was 22, cheating on her.
Brokenhearted and angry, Kennedy begged her father to let her oversee the development of the New York offices of Voss Industries. The company was scooping up disused industrial spaces in Yonkers, New York to revitalize for it's manufacturing space in the U.S. as well as opening an additional office in New York City proper to expand it's business.
Alan agreed without hesitation and Kennedy soon ran off to New York, leaving behind a city that held bad memories.
Kennedy has been in New York for the past three years, having established the Voss Industries sites in that state, she decided to remain in the area and continue to do occasional work for the company while she figured out what she wanted to do next in her life.
She remains very involved with local charities, fundraising and awareness events, as well as having established a small dance school on her own in the city that caters to children and youths unable to afford the cost of dance lessons. The school, Bella Vida Dance Academy, has a small staff and faculty and Kennedy herself will occasionally teach a class.
About nine months ago, Kennedy took a walk around the city late at night - not really concerned for her safety with the her abilities, and interupted an attempted child abduction of a little boy who had run away from home earlier that day and was being pulled into a stranger's van at one in the morning.
She handily dispatched of his would be abductor, called the cops, whisked the little boy off and bought him a late night hot dog before returning him home to his very worried father. That was the first moment she had an inkling to do something more with her abilities and since then has slowly started venturing out more and more, finally giving in 6 months ago and donning a persona to protect her identity.
Kennedy has been superheroing around New York City on her own under the name "Aero".
