In that case, I shouldn't worry. The last five years of my life have been an almost constant stream of nagging regarding the importance of cleanliness, not only of oneself, but one's belongings and abode.

[A deliberated pause.] I've noticed, though, that in the case of the latter, dirt and mud have an almost remarkable ability of cleaning themselves. I'd cry witchcraft if I didn't know any better.

Belongings and abode, I'll agree that should remain clean.

I don't know how one dirties the soul. I surmise that's a matter of opinion.
