[After getting roughed up by Yuber, albeit not without doing a decent job of returning the favor, Moro can be seen slowly wandering into the town, bleeding from shallow wounds and giving off a stench of burnt flesh and fur.

She doesn't seem to act too injured - in fact, at times it seems like she's strutting.

Oh Moro.]

[oh, Moro. San would have a few things to say about going into the village already injured, except that she's hurt too, after a run-in with Presea. Her usual proud walk has become a limp...but no less proud]

[Moro has the intention of getting the injuries fixed, however, so she's got to go into the village.]

When I arrived, it was shortly after my death. The Malnosso reattached my head and gave me life so that I may be their prisoner... and I was swarmed by concerned humans that were intent on healing me.

[hear that sound? That is San being incredulous. If it were spring and there were plants growing she'd tend to Moro herself. ...It's a sore spot that now she'll have to let the humans do it]

I suppose it's a merit that the humans here aren't useless.

But all things can be exploited.

What if they hear what you've done and choose to hurt you?

I'll snap them in half.

[good enough. San goes back to being focused on not letting her limp make her fall behind]

[Moro herself isn't at a very swift pace. She's maintaining a vigilance and keeping her guard up instead, slowly walking through the snow.]

A young human girl was cutting down trees.

Did you kill her?

She carried a large axe. I attacked her but couldn't get past it. ...She gave me...seedlings of trees. To replace the one she killed.

...Then her ignorance is best ignored and her behavior best monitored.

If you catch her doing it again, show no mercy.

I won't.

[she would have killed her the first time if Presea hadn't been so damn fast with that axe]

The humans here are surprising. They merit caution as well as an opportunity to prove themselves.

The one who injured you was not a human.

No. He was a demon.

Long before humans turned against the gods, the duty of the gods was to kill demons.

It has been a very, very long time since I've seen a demon with so little self-respect that it would wear a human face.
