This was another heart breaking chapter. I may require a stent if this keeps up. Leave it to psychopath Max to not even take the blame at this point in his life. I thought that was very well done.

This section caught my eye, but I'm not sure I agree with him:

He knows, godammit, that he should have been the one person to defy her notions about the transient nature of love, and ended up proving them instead. That by moving on, he made a lie out of everything he ever tried to tell her. But what the hell else was he supposed to do and stay sane?

I don't disagree that it was necessary to his sanity to move on. I do question, though, if in moving on he made a lie out of everything he tried to tell her. He still loves her. He has just suppressed romantic love for her, basically at her request. Relationships really are a give and take, and if she wasn't willing to reciprocate what he was putting out there, then persisting in putting it out there would make him sad, stalker puppy Booth.

I'm really looking forward to where you are taking them next.

I don't agree either, but isn't it just like him to think so? ;)

Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

Oh Ms Anna.
I am so loving this story. A++++
The mine field, as someone put it, that Booth is walking though is real here and so tangible I can feel it.
You are so talented.
I love your writing, and I love THIS story to absolute death.
More!!!!!!
