It felt like she had only just dosed off when the sensation of being watched pulled her back into the world of the conscious. She blinked her eyes in the faded light of the cabin, vision clearing to focus on a familiar face. Registering the lightest brush of his fingers against her cheek, ( Read more... )

Four reasons why I adore this chapter:

1) Buffy+Angel+Flying= Mile High Club action! It is just such an incredibly normal naughty thing for them to be doing. It had nothing to do with life, death, good or bad, it was just natural and fun. It's probably the only sexual moment they have ever had together (up until this point) that cannot be tarnished by uncertainty or disaster. I loved it, a marked transition in their relationship.

2) Vi's description of Angel. I love how you are giving us a new perspective not only of him, but of Buffy and Angel together. It acknowledges who they are as individuals and a couple in a wonderfully refreshing and honest way.

3) Angel and Giles squaring off. The dialogue was perfectly chosen. Love it.

4) Vi's final thoughts on Buffy. I firmly believe that Buffy became so stone-hearted in the latter seasons because she didn't have Angel, not just romantically, but as a general support. He is the only person that ever really got the toll her responsibilities take and also, the only person with whom she didn't have to be the Slayer, who she could just be a girl. I love that you acknowledge the differences having him in her life has on not only on her demeanor, but also physically.

1) I love being able to explore an intimate aspect to their relationship. They were always so guarded with one another, afraid to temp fate again, and releasing them from that opens up a whole realm of possibility. Besides, they'll have enough to worry about soon enough, without tarnishing the sexytiems :P

2) Yay! I'm so glad you said this, because that was precisely the intent. Having the reader see them through Vi's eyes gives them that new beginning.

3) Double yay! Glad you enjoyed it.

4)I firmly believe that Buffy became so stone-hearted in the latter seasons because she didn't have Angel, not just romantically, but as a general support.

Absolutely. She didn't have to explain anything to him; he just understood. I don't think she ever felt the full brunt of being "the One girl in all the world" as deeply as she did after losing him.

Thank you so much, sweetie. I'm really happy that you liked this chapter :D
