That I hadn't assumed was metaphorical, but "biting someone to death" does sound a bit suspect when cast in a different light, if you think about it. Although perhaps one would have to know French.

I hadn't thought of calling him a vampire, but now that you mention it I suppose it was an obvious connection to make.
