Chapter 6v- Idiots driving cars with cell phones scare me
What is the point of having a $200 fine for driving while talking on your cell phone (without a headset) if the police aren't going to enforce it? Is it just an excuse for the police to pull you over if they are bored? I was almost rear-ended TWICE today by some guy who was too busy typing numbers and chatting on his cell phone to realize he had to stop. The first time I luckily had no one in front of me at the red light I was at, and was able to inch up a bit to avoid the accident. He had an "Oh shit." look on his face for two seconds until he remembered there was someone very important he needed to talk to at this very moment...and not a moment later would do. The second time I was turning. I put my signal on with plenty of time for him to see it, but still had to speed into my turn...as yet again he wasn't paying any attention. I have witnessed police cars drive by people who are talking away with not a care in the world. I've seen the police look directly at these people, and continue on there way. Making laws that are not going to be enforced is just a waste of people's time. Yet, another thing that blows my mind in this intelligent world we live in.
