Wedding Update

Just thought I'd make another update on our progress so far -

The Ceremony/Reception venue are point blank refusing to allow us to change the ceremony time, so we've had to cancel our celebrant and try and find a new one. I'm sad, because we REALLY liked our celebrant, but, I'm also kind of relieved, because the later start time was making things difficult as far as photographers and cars went, there's a HEAP of school balls on the same day apparently!

On the upside, we have...

Booked and paid the deposit for the videographer, who is LOVELY. We got along so fantastically well with him, it was just great!

Booked and paid the deposit for the cars. Mmmmm, yummy 10 seater Holden Stretch Limo for Lorna *drools*. I am SO happy about this, as I really REALLY didn't want to have to be in an ugh Ford on my wedding day (sorry Ford ppl, but I'm a Holden girl and always will be), plus, the car that will be picking us up after the reception, is a Statesman *happy dance*

Booked and paid the deposit for our accomodation for the weekend after the wedding. There was never really any doubt where we would be going, but on top of being fantastically happy about where we're staying, we've also 1) gotten a great deal and 2) the package is brilliant...includes bottle of champagne when we arrive (like we won't already have had enough :P), breakfast on the Saturday, facial for me and massage for John on the Saturday, special chocolates, breakfast on the Sunday, and a late checkout. I cannot WAIT!!!! Only thing more fun is going to be our Honeymoon, and no, I'm not telling any of you where we're going for either of them :P

We went and saw a photographer last night, and I'm totally in love. Her work is magnificent, and although she's over our current budget *cough*$2000over*cough* I think we'll probably book her anyway. We can afford to pay the extra, we just didn't want to if we didn't have to, and I really don't think I'm going to be satisfied with anyone else now :(

I have a BUSY week next week, I have 4 celebrants to see so far!!!

Bridesmaid dresses are ordered and deposit paid...we'll be taking the flowergirls and the boys in there alot closer to the wedding, as the boys stuff won't take all that long to make, and the girls are growing SO DAMN FAST, we want to make sure it's done as close to when they're needed as possible.

Also went and got the bridesmaids shoes the day we ordered the dresses, and ZOMG...what I expected to be a 3 or 4 hour ordeal, ended up being one of the easiest bits!! Sjaan and Fiona found a shoe they liked, in the second shop we went into, and it should match the colour scheme/their dresses perfectly!! Angel wasn't thrilled, but I knew she wouldn't really be happy with any shoe we chose, unless they were Dockers :P So I compromised with her, she wears the 'yucky, high, uncomfy' shoes for the ceremony and photos, and, as long as she DOES THEM UP and takes the chain off them, she can wear her dockers for the reception :D

Along the same lines, the same lady is going to be making the alterations to my dress, and she can do everything I want, quite easily apparently, so I'm rather excited about that too!!! Best bit is, where we were originally going to get the dresses from was in Freo, I HATE driving down to Freo, but the new place is ALOT closer to all of us, so YAY!!!

We've sorted out sword hire for the boys as well, so the groomsmen will have their swords to play with (in a non kinky way :P)

Hairdresser is organised, and she seems to be quite excited about doing it, although I have to find out if she'd be willing to do trials, at least for mine and maybe one or two of the bridesmaids, as t here's debate within the family now about how I should wear my hair, and the hairdresser isn't 100% sure how she's going to do the bridesmaids, so a trial would possibly be good for all of us :D. Everything was organised through Chrissie, as she's a friend of hers, and since Chrissie sings her praises to the hills, I'm really looking forward to it.

I am still hugely excited, and just wish the time would hurry up. Almost everything is organised now and I just want to be walking down the aisle to make everything official with the most wonderful man on earth :D

On another note, at least I might hopefully get to assist a bit in organising another wedding that I don't have to stress out as much over!! I'm looking forward to helping (as much as I'm wanted to) without having all the stress :P

OMG this is a long entry....good onya anyone who made it all the way through :D

Luv n hugs
Lorna :D
