*waves* Hi! I am Set, your craft table organizer! For those of you who didn't make it the last time, the craft table is just as it sounds - a table full of art supplies for you to make fannish related art projects to your little hearts' content. (Or non-fannish projects too, but mostly people tend to make things like judgey Tim Gunn on a stick. As a totally random example. *g*) As an example, I give to you my
DIY Femslash magnet that is still hanging on my fridge, but the possibilities are endless.
As Brynn mentioned, we are more than happy to accept donations of crafting supplies, both fannish and non-fannishly related. (In the past, we've had donations of old fannishly related calendars and magazines, such as Entertainment Weekly and Rolling Stone, but also things like construction paper and scissors.) If you want to drop me a line in this entry to let me know what you're bringing, that is totally fine with me, but if you find something that you want to bring along and don't have a chance to do so, that is A OK as well! I'll be getting to the con hotel Thursday afternoon and posting (locked) to the comm let y'all know what room you can drop stuff off in until I set the table up Friday evening. And then we can all get crafting! (ELEVEN DAYS until con time guys. \0/)
ETA: Two sidenotes!
1.) If you're looking at something and trying to figure out if you want to put it on the swap table or donate it to the craft table, an easy rule of thumb is how devastated you would be to see someone cut it up in front of you. If it's something that you don't want but really want someone to respect for it's intrinsic value, swap table! If you are of the opinion that you would really like to see exactly what happens to it after sleep deprived caffeine addicts attack it with glitter paint, then please hand it over to the craft table!
2.) All donations will be loved and accepted, no matter how small, except for things that have an inherently high mess potential. We know that no one would deliberately do anything destructive, but accidents happen, so please avoid bringing things with high spill or stain factors, such as dye, paints that require brushes or loose glitter. TYK for your help in keeping our Sunday evening clean-up to a minimum! ♥
