love dogs? have a few bucks to spare? I called the annapolis area chesapeake veterinary surgical specialists to confirm that this story is legit, and it is. which kills me.
Please meet Jacobi. Jacobi was turned in to Animal Control as a stray, and sat there for five days in extreme pain. He can not lay down at all (see pictures below), so he had to sit there in pain for five days, not being able to even get to his water or food. When I went there to pick up a puppy we seen Jacobi, and we could not leave him behind to suffer any longer. Here's where Jacobi, and we, need your help (please pass this on to your contacts). Jacobi has already seen a primary vet for exam and x-rays. His back IS broken (see picture of x-ray below). He will be going to see a specialist, Dr. Prostredny, this week. It is our goal to help this boy regain his life and be pain free. Because our rescue is just starting out we cannot do this without financial help . I don't have a dollar amount yet, and won't until we meet with Dr. P, but as most of you already know this treatment will not come cheap. We will have to have most of the money upon scheduling his surgery (for my Dachshund it was a down payment of $2,500.00 six yrs ago), with the remainder being due at time of release. That is usually done during the first consult with Dr. P. because time is critical to recovery and not causing additional injury, which would end his chances, and life.
