It would not be long until they found the 'evidence' that had been planted.
But Aredian didn't know that, and so he stood in the center of the room, arms crossed, watching them.

So were Francine's, her hand groping rather blindly for Katchoo's because she didn't want to cast any meaningful glances towards her co-conspirators. Someone sharp of ear might still catch the pleaseletthiswork chant under her breath, though.

"These things don't belong to me!" Aredian cried, dropping his composure as he ran for the cupboard. "This is a trick! That boy plots against me!"
Arthur stared at him. Especially when he suddenly doubled over and staggered forward. His eyes flew to Merlin. What had he done to the man...?

Then the king drew his sword, and the guards with him. "Sorcerer!" he cried.
Aredian shot forward and grabbed Morgana by the wrist, yanking her back and putting his dagger to her throat.
"Aredian, be very careful what you decide to do," Uther growled, stepping forward. Sword still in hand, and Arthur behind him. "You will never escape from Camelot alive."

The rest of his body followed second later and he went tumbling down the wall, falling and falling and falling until he stopped and the life drained from his eyes.
Arthur stared after him.

Until she remembered what Gaius had looked like when they dragged him into the audience chamber; perhaps she'd settle for just the relief after all.
